Omafiets Staff Bike Check: Zac’s Tumbleweed Stargazer.
There’s something honest about a dirty bike, and honestly Zac racks up a pretty huge number of kms on his XL Stargazer . Built in a bit of a mad scramble to replace a stolen bike shortly before heading off to race the Tour Divide, he blazed through the 4,400km route in a staggering 19 days.
The bike is an XL frame and is running an aftermarket Curve carbon fork.
Hand built wheels with Son 28 dynamo and a Klite light and charging setup.
The cavernous custom frame bag from BikeBagDude sits above a Botched Bike’s dragonfly holding extra bottles.
The well worn Giles Berthoud Aspin saddle sits atop a trusty Thomson seatpost.
WolfTooth waveform pedals and headset are running strong
We don’t know many folks who would head out for a 600km weekend Audax ride running 2.4 Mezcal tyres but they certainly don’t seem to slow him down !

Omafiets staff bike check: Aidan’s Surly Cross Check.
Starting with a stock cross check frame Aiden spent too many hours of his life painstakingly removing the paint, and then with help from LoveGunPaintworks repainting in a gold base with acetylene torch smoke swirls over the top. 🔥100% worth it when you see this paint up close !

We are running a film night and bike games on Thursday 8th October. It’s completely free, fun and family friendly!

Hosted just down the road with the legends at Heaps Normal Social Club in Marrickville, with a local food truck on site.
Any and all bikes welcome, expect some fun and inclusive games with prizes from Brooks to be won !

We are screening a film called “Tall Bikes Will Save the World” by the Zenga Bros as part of building a bit of excitement in anticipation of next year’s Weird Bike Ride !

What an incredible set up on the weekend at the @ridewollongong festival of cycling @jonow and Chris and Al from @omafiets and volunteers from @illawarrabicycleusers set up this incredible obstacle course to try out these magnificent cargo bike machines from @wombat_bikes amazing prizes from @headlandsdistillingco and bikes from generous community members Jono and Clare Watson - so amazing!

These things are life changing can easily carry a couple of kids, groceries or whatever you need to carry on practically all short trips - we all want one now!!!

Dynamo hub with fully wired front and rear lights, the option of front or rear facing child seat, matching Panaracer Gravel King X1 tubeless tyres. Twenty five riders, a heatwave day, some stunning roads, epic hills, the onset of darkness, calamity and recovery, a quiet camp and a long ride home.
