Awesome to be back to my Judo roots and compete at the 2026 Maccabiah Games in Israel.

Crazy to compete in the country where I first stepped onto a mat.

Amazing experience and happy to come back with 2 medals.

A few months ago I drove to Philadelphia to meet David Adelman, owner of the Philadelphia 76ers, right as they were entering the playoffs. I got there early, stepped out near UPenn to grab a juice, and saw someone walking by.

I asked him, “Excuse me sir, are you Jewish?”

He smiled and said yes.

We wrapped Tefillin together right there on the street. His name was @omerbarak10 ,a Jewish D1 wrestler at UPenn who also represented Israel in wrestling.

Today, Omer reached out saying he had started working on Wall Street. At the same time, I was having lunch with my friend @marcodl18 , founder of @rentmigo and a former Muay Thai fighter who now teaches Jews self-defense through @thewarehouse_wellness .

We were eating two blocks from Omer’s office, so we FaceTimed him and told him to come by.

A little later we were all sitting together wrapping Tefillin again, and this time, we gave Omer his own pair so he can start wrapping every single day.

One random conversation outside UPenn turned into a lifelong mitzvah. taken in Wall Street Grill New york by @omerbarak10
