Some of my favorite stills from MUSE and badass @thaogetstaydown new Fossils music video.

LOVE the wizardry @sarahsimkajaffe achieved with our 2010s digicam. Gimme that overexposure, shooting into the sun, the flares and aberration, what our editor @danalaman affectionately called the “sloppy doppies.” I call it trusting the process!

The footage was pushed even farther by @danalaman editorial vision and rhythm, and @cmartcolors and @roastnpost_oakland magic who fully understood the lo-fi rocknroll assignment.

A special shout out to @isabella__manfredi who whipped up a custom shirt in a week. She’s the g.o.a.t.

Last but not least a huge thank you to our extras, who showed up to an empty bar at 9am to dance with wild abandon in the street. Hats off to you all 🖤

Big 💛 to @alanaloweha for making the dream happen by @omglmg

Y’all! Last week we dropped a music video for @thaogetstaydown’s newest single FOSSILS.

All we had was a dream, and @sarahsimkajaffe ’s 2010s digicam. But like the song says, “I don’t want this city without you.” YOU being the mega talented homies who gave free love, talent, sewing, and dancing for the amazing music that brought us together. Not to mention the generosity of a couple beloved SF neighborhoods, Chinatown + North Beach. Couldn’t have done it without doing makeup @onwaverly or getting to take over @vesuviobarsf before opening. Thanks @clydejanet.

Happy Samhain! 👻 This music video was released Halloween 2018! It’s still giving me so much joy. This was the first thing I ever directed, and probably still the most ambitious bc I was so GREEN. I couldn’t have done it without @jpausanos taking a chance on me @anderswericsson genius edit, @landbreakersf creative wizardry and of course @broganbentley1 sick track “Your favorite color” and all the witches… by @omglmg

Very excited about this hometown-ish screening of @mondegreen.film at @millvalleyfilmfest! It’s playing in “The Grass is Blue” shorts block, which has the best title, AND the other shorts look amazing by @omglmg

Friends! Lots of exciting @mondegreen.film screenings coming up in October. See it at a theater near you. Some virtual screenings so you could even watch in the comfort of your home… Fun fact: the song playing here is in the film, extra points to people who guess where… by @omglmg

What’s on Maggie’s mind?

Mondegreen is screening this weekend as part @panicfilmfest. More info at link in bio.

Mondegreen is a tragicomic tale about not being able to separate signal from noise, truth from conspiracy, and coincidence from revelation. Enjoy!

Thank you @sffilm and the SFFilm Makers program for the opportunity to be part of your 2024 FilmHouse Residency Program. Already in the first few weeks I’ve been blown away by the caliber of our cohort. I am so excited to learn, connect, and work together this year 🎬 by @omglmg

Ok I am excited to share this photo but also super excited for a couple films I worked on to be screening this weekend at @nightofshorts. The first is the @drumandlace Armatura music video, which I directed, and the second is the short The Edge of the Light, directed by @hkinder which I production designed. Lots of gratitude to the folks running Night of Shorts for an opportunity to gather and celebrate local filmmakers. by @omglmg

🌿 The vegetal world we created for Drum & Lace’s Armatura music video took on another life as onstage visuals for @drumandlace performance @earthackney in London. I wanted to see what would happen with meditative movement and minimal effects— a visual verdigris lullaby. Sharing some of my favorite stills here. It’s moving to see how much the Frost EP is resonating with you all, thank you for listening this weekend ❄️ really excited to share a beautiful visual by @omglmg for the title track ‘Frost’ ❄️ The video was shot on a vintage camcorder on MiniDV, and uses a crystal ball, light, crystals & abalone shells to create the most hypnotic and mesmerizing visuals which you can watch in full on my YouTube 🌬️ for now enjoy the short snippet and some lovely stills

Also, the EP got the kindest & most amazing review by @acloserlisten, which was published yesterday and you can find on their site 🤍 Thank you for the support, always!

Frost EP is out now on all digital platforms 💙 xox by @omglmg
