HEY look at this foster dog! 🖤

I was lucky enough to be Foxmoor’s temp foster for a few days while his foster parents were out of town! He is 100% an EASY BUTTON dog! Crate trained, potty trained, non destructive in the house, this boy is truly a dream! He loves to cuddle (although not always aware of his size 🤣) and is always up for a game of tug and fetch. He can also easily self entertain by chewing nylabones or throwing around his stuffies (under supervision of course). He’s only been out of the shelter a few days so hasn’t been introduced to any dogs yet, but did well at the shelter and displays friendly behavior on walks. He was completely undisturbed by fireworks and had no complaints about being left on his own for a full work day. Foxmoor does display prey drive towards squirrels and other small animals, so he would probably need a kitty free home. He is also still a puppy at just a year and can get a little mouthy during play, but listens so well to redirection and guidance. No resource guarding and respectful of boundaries!

Y’all I could go on and on about how good this boy is! He is also absolutely gorgeous with his jet black coat, I affectionately called him my hellhound due to his regal appearance, although his derp does show through occasionally 🤪 I think he would fit wonderfully into any kind of home, perhaps with older kids just due to his size and occasional mouthiness.

Dog for the Day Ep 24: The brightest Star! 🌟

I had the absolute privilege of taking this sweet senior girl out for her first day out of the shelter maybe EVER!

Star is the most DELICIOUS blend of pittie, shepherd, terrier (and dare I say Chinchilla?) with ILLEGALLY soft fur. While she was a little reserved at first, she quickly opened up and was just so happy to be CHOSEN. This delightful passenger princess insists on being close to her people (I’m talking whisker to whisker - no shame, we all got em) and rewards you with the sweetest kisses when you acknowledge that personal space is really quite a silly concept. Star was an expert at soliciting pets at the Home Depot and even received a Good Friday blessing 🥰 She is a little dog reactive but was very receptive to redirection and commands, although she is surprisingly not treat motivated. She could also afford to lose a couple of pounds 🤫 but that didn’t stop us from the highlight of the day - a pup cup! It was honestly so hard to take her back (I have a soft spot for brindles, seniors, and pitties and she’s all three 😩).

As we all know, seniors don’t belong in a shelter - even one with as much care and attention as @polkcountybullyproject so let’s get this amazing girl into a HOME! She is showing some signs of stress 😭

Dog for the Day Ep 23: Hey there Delilah, what’s it like in rescue city? Delilah is a senior gal with the lumps and bumps to prove it, but that only adds to her charm 🥰

🚙 She’s not a huge fan of the car (and makes it well known) until she makes her way up front to copilot 🫡

🐾 Her favorite position is the sploot! She isn’t super big on affection, but will happily lay by your feet (in her super sploot) and lovessss to roll around on her back

1️⃣ She does want to be the one and only pet in your household but doesn’t have a significant prey drive towards birds, etc. She does talk a bit when passing another pup, but is fairly easy to redirect

😭 She was in foster for a good bit of time and was going to get picked back up after the holidays… but her foster family changed their minds. Even though she gets all the lovins from staff and volunteers, she really hates being back and could use an out

Dog for the Day Ep 22: Lee + me! Lee is a precious senior (~6 yrs old) mixed breed girlie (I want to say pittie and possibly lab?) that is a shelter favorite! Someone cropped her ears to make her look fierce, but let me tell you the real things she’s fierce about.

❤️‍🔥 Fiercely affectionate - loves giving 💋 and wants to say 👋 to EVERYONE

❤️‍🔥 Fiercely attached to her stuffies - she was accompanied by her emotional support 🥦 and gained an emotional support 🎅 as well

❤️‍🔥 Fiercely 👸 - she has a beautiful longer haired golden coat

❤️‍🔥 Fiercely good on a leash - she still lets her 👃 guide her a bit, but is generally a loose leash walker that is non reactive to other 🐶

❤️‍🔥 Fiercely looking for her forever 🏡

Kicking off the holiday season my favorite way - by giving back. Forever grateful to work for a company that takes its community commitment seriously. Our @tecoenergy team and others spent two hours today packing 18,000 potatoes @feedingtampabay! With SNAP benefits frozen and other economic hardships, they are expecting a sharp increase in demand. Their new warehouse is an absolutely vital resource for the area and I can’t wait to volunteer again very soon. Dog for the Day Ep 21: I AM OBSESSED WITH MIRIAM 😭😭 If I didn’t have my diva girl at home I would have scooped her up TODAY! Just look at her video. Teefs. For. Daysssss.

Miriam is the sweetest lower energy gal who has her fair share of lumps and bumps plus evidence of a previous life as an overbred mama 🥹. Despite all this, she is a happy, friendly girl with a gorgeous fawn coat that got compliments everywhere we went!

She is a dream on a leash, with only occasional pulling to get in some really good sniffs. A dream in the car, happy to lay down in the backseat (although she did get brave enough to try to copilot at one point 🫡).

She’s not very treat or toy motivated, but is so happy to receive all the gentle affection, especially when you talk to her 🥹 She does startle at sudden movements, so calm and clear communication is the way to this girl’s heart.

She is dog selective, but is way better behaved on a leash than my baby is 😂 No barking or pulling towards other dogs we saw while out, just interest and easy redirection. She also LOVED kids and I think she would be SO happy in a home with kids age 5 or so and up just because she can be startled.

PLEASE RUN don’t walk to get Miriam from @polkcountybullyproject! It’s time for her to live the life she has always deserved ❤️

It’s also Pitbull Awareness Month! So be sure to donate your time and treasure to your favorite local rescue or shelter because we are DROWNING 😭

Dog for the Day Continuation of Ep 20! B-Man is STILL @polkcountybullyproject 🥹 We had a day out way back in December of 2024 and this guy still hasn’t been adopted 😞

I have no idea why! He’s dog and people friendly (was so patient and friendly with some kids he met @homedepot today) and is just a super chill dude. He’s not overly affectionate, but he is open to the occasional hug and will even bestow some kisses if you’re lucky 😊

His leash skills have improved over the past months and he’s super easy to walk and handle. He does seem to have had a bit of a hard past as he does startle at loud noises and will flinch a little if you move towards his head too quickly 🙁

This guy is safe for as long as he needs at the rescue but he really needs a HOME! His stress is preventing him from gaining the weight he needs and I just know he would thrive in any household.

Dog for the Day Ep 24: Meet Noya and find out what she stands for!

(N)onreactive to most all animals and people (she does have a surprisingly high speed gear for those dang squirrels) ✌🏼
(O)h my gosh she does tricks! She knows sit, speak, paw, down (into the cutest sploot), and beg 🐾
(Y)es, she could stand to lose a bit of weight, but she is more than ready to start her fitness journey (just don’t tell her I said that) 🏋️‍♀️
(A)mbivalent when it comes to affection. She’s needs time to warm up and isn’t what you’d call a Velcro dog, but is absolutely open to those sought after butt scritches. 🍑
