〰️ experimental pop band 🥀
'Melon on the Vine' out now xx
moving off social media to newsletter soon

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

On Diamond (@ondiamond) continued Season XIX, led by Lisa Salvo (vocals) with Scott McConnachie (guitar, synth), Myka Wallace (drums), Jules Pascoe (bass), and Duré Dara (percussion).

Based in Melbourne/Naarm, the group’s practice draws from alternative pop, folk, and experimental song, shaped by a close-knit ensemble dynamic, balancing structured songwriting with exploratory treatments of texture and arrangement.

Drawing on the expanded palette of their latest release ‘Melon on the Vine’, the set centred voice, rhythm, and atmosphere in careful proportion. Salvo’s vocals carried a quiet warmth, moving between direct melodic lines and expressive nuance, while the collective navigated tone and space with precision, maintaining the ensemble’s cohesive connection throughout.

🌹 This coming Saturday 8th Nov! Our album lauuuunnnnchhhhh. Hope to see you there, with the ever amazing Oliver Mann, avant folk genius and wonderful person, who rarely plays solo, opening the night. Doors 7:30pm, Ollie at 8pm, OD at 9pm. Thank you so much for all the lovely feedback on our album. Have been so happy to finally share this work. An amazing sense of relief and achievement. And I think the launch will be a joyful night. Especially being at Cross Street, our favourite loungeroom. X Tix via Humanitix, venue is wheelchair accessible, tix to suit all financial needs. And of course being held on stolen Wurundjeri Land. X

..Once on a night so cold and dark, I saw a shooting star in the open sky and it stayed with me..

On Diamond ~ Melon on the Vine (Eastmint011) LP/ Digital ¤¸¸.•´¯`•¸¸.•..>> 🖤💎🖤 <<..•.¸¸•´¯`•.¸¸¤

Eastmint are thrilled to announce the release today of ‘Melon on the Vine’, the second LP from inter-generational experimental-pop supergroup On Diamond. Available on vinyl and digital via Bandcamp and all platforms except Spotify.

Rotting fruit, crawling mountains, and rogue sheep evoke dysfunction in a dream-like reflection of personal and collective realities… Exploring themes of time, grief, and desire while centering on the pursuit of connection, the moods of Melon on the Vine shift between light and shadow to carry the listener through the album as an unfolding journey.

Led by Lisa Salvo, the band’s distinctive sound unfurls with expressive detail, bringing each song’s world to life through playful improvisations between band members; percussionist legend Duré Dara, experimental multi-instrumentalist Scott McConnachie, harpist Genevieve Fry, drummer Myka Wallace and bass player Jules Pascoe.
