ANNOUNCING: Sex in Menopause with Naomi Watts!

For too long, the conversation about sex in midlife has been missing. Not because there’s nothing to say, but because no one gave us the language. Or because we asked, and no one had answers.

Sex in Menopause with Naomi Watts, founder of Stripes Beauty, is a master class about what’s actually happening in your body, what no one told you, and what you can do about it.

Featuring sexual health physician Dr. Somi Javaid, psychologist Dr. Cindy Meston, and nine women whose honest stories reflect the experiences of millions.

Together, they explore the science, the solutions, and the conversations that can change the way you understand your body, talk to your doctor, and connect with your partner.

Watch free September 9-15.

ANNOUNCEMENT ✨ The Luminescence women's health event is back in LA.

This is a gathering for women who are done figuring out their health alone.

Done accepting exhaustion as the cost of being a woman.

On October 17, Luminescence returns to Los Angeles for a full day devoted to women's health in all its depth and complexity.

Hear from some of the leading voices in women's health, longevity, mental health, strength, and hormone science and leave with answers that can change the way you care for yourself for years to come.

Discover what's actually happening to your body, what to do about it, and what the next chapter of your life can look like when you finally have the right information, whether you're 32 or 62.

On the Commune Podcast, Dan Harris explains the difference between Buddhist equanimity and checking out.

I asked Dan how to stay sane when the news feels relentless. His answer: hold it with an open palm instead of a clenched fist. Look straight at what's happening, keep your balance, and then respond with some wisdom instead of reacting on reflex.

Watch the full conversation with Dan Harris on the Commune Podcast.

The word ā€œpsychedelicā€ has an interesting history.

Before that word became common, these substances were often described as psychotomimetics. Basically, ā€œmadness-mimickingā€ drugs. The assumption was that they temporarily made people insane.

Then came the word ā€œpsychedelicā€ or ā€œmind-manifesting.ā€

It reflected a growing interest in what these experiences might reveal, rather than simply treating them as a temporary form of madness.

That shift in language mirrors the larger history of psychedelics: complicated, controversial, and shaped by both fear and genuine curiosity.

In The Truth About Psychedelic Medicine, @lauren.taus digs into that complicated history without romanticizing it or reducing it to stigma.

You've probably heard that morning sunlight, fasting, cold plunges and sauna are good for you. There is a lot of information out there about what we "should" do for our health.

What if you learned about circadian rhythm while watching the sun rise? Or about heat shock proteins while sitting in the sauna? Or about peptide therapies from a physician working at the frontier of regenerative medicine?

This October, Schuyler and I are hosting The Perfect Weekend Retreat at Commune Topanga. We'll practice these protocols together in community and in nature. Dr. Aleksandra Gajer will also give a special guest lecture on "Peptide Therapies & the Frontiers of Regenerative Medicine."

The retreat runs October 23-25, 2026, and it is where we move from learning to doing.

My guest on the @onecommune podcast today is poet, meditator, and author of How to Love Better, Diego Perez, a.k.a. Yung Pueblo.

You’ll hear how Diego’s spiritual and emotional journey began in self-destruction: before he found mindfulness and healing, he grew up in poverty, carried the weight of childhood trauma, and suppressed pain that led to addiction until a near-death experience forced radical change.

We examine Buddhist principles, especially impermanence, non-attachment, and the illusion of a static self, as essential tools for building healthier relationships.

Diego describes how observing bodily sensations through Vipassana meditation allowed him to develop self-awareness, which in turn transformed his relationship with his wife, Sarah.

This conversation is ultimately an exploration of relational dynamics: how to argue with compassion, how to listen to understand rather than to win, and how to let go of control in love.

This is pretty sad. One of my hens has spent more than a month sitting on eggs that will never hatch. Kinda like me in my early 50s. Fixated on everything I was losing. Brooding over the ever-waning utility of my eggs. (Little did I know there was an omelet waiting for me on the other side!)
On October 17, 2,000 of us hens of all ages and stages are getting out of our nests and over to the Saban Theatre. Stacy T Sims, PhD, Dr. Judith Joseph, Amy Killen, MD, and Maria Shriver will be leading the flock! šŸ“

For a limited time, buy one General Admission ticket and bring a friend free. (Don’t molt over this, it ends October 6!!)

Yeah yoga helped me through the dark days of perimenopause - but you know what really got me through?? My love affair with TENNIS. And I’m still obsessed - because like any hard to get crush - she continues to elude me. Handstand… easy. Backhand volley - so hard! On October 17, I’m doing something else that’s hard for me: hosting Luminescence at the Saban Theatre! Hosting an incredible lineup of women’s health experts - and trying to look like I want to pee my pants ?!?

Come watch me try.

For a limited time, if you buy one General Admission ticket you can bring a friend free. (Don’t snooze on this - ends October 6!!)

Women are so used to being the ones who hold everything together. Our families, our work, our communities. Somewhere in there, it’s pretty easy to put ourselves at the bottom of the list.

So having @mariashriver join us at Luminescence LA feels especially meaningful.

Maria has spent decades pushing women’s health into conversations where it was too often missing, especially when it comes to the brain and how women age. And on October 17, she’ll be bringing that work, curiosity, and perspective to the Luminescence stage.

A room full of women. Some of the brightest minds in women’s health. And Maria Shriver in the middle of the conversation. We genuinely cannot wait for this one.

Eventually, every revelation has to meet ordinary life.

The inbox fills. Old habits return. The clarity that once felt undeniable becomes harder to reach.

It can be tempting to think the insight has disappeared. But perhaps the measure of a profound experience is we practice when the height of the moment is over.

As Lauren Taus explores, integration is where insight begins to become a way of living.

Is envy built on a fallacy? Dan Harris explains it through a frame from Sharon Salzberg. Envy assumes whatever the other person got was somehow coming to you and they intercepted it.

What is your envy trying to tell you? Dan's full conversation is on the Commune Podcast.
