As Caribbean nations accelerate their transition toward renewable energy and climate resilience, young people are stepping forward to shape how that future is built. In that regard, the Caribbean Youth Climate Council (CYCC) was happy to host the Caribbean Climate & Sustainable Energy Youth Workshop 2026.

The regional gathering convened youth leaders, policymakers, energy practitioners, researchers, and community advocates from across the Caribbean Community (Caricom) to advance equitable and inclusive energy transitions in Caribbean Small Island Developing States (SIDS).

Held in partnership with Youth Action Co: Lab and Youth4Energy, the workshop was held on March 4–6, 2026, at the Jamaica Conference Centre in Kingston, Jamaica.

Held under the theme “SUSEnergy: Equity and Inclusion in a Changing Climate”, it builds on the outcomes of the 2025 Caribbean Youth Environment and Climate Change Conference.

The initiative was supported by the Caribbean Centre for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (CCREEE), the regional institution mandated to promote renewable energy and energy efficiency investment across Caricom.

1.5 to Stay Alive’ speaks to the urgency of action. It is not about comfort; it is about survival. For Antigua and Barbuda, for the Pacific Islands, for coastal communities everywhere, holding the line at 1.5°C means saving lives, cultures, and ecosystems that cannot be replaced. It is about ensuring that our children inherit thriving communities instead of climate devastation. The world must listen: 1.5°C is the bare minimum to protect the most vulnerable among us.

🌱 DAY 1 ,THE JOURNEY BEGINS! 🌎

Today marks the first day of an important and inspiring journey one centered on learning, meaningful connections, collaboration, and action.

I am honored to be part of this initiative and to contribute my voice and experience to a movement that aligns strongly with the work we are advancing through @cosmossolution.haiti in Haiti and across the Caribbean.

For me, participating in initiatives like this is about more than being present. It is about building bridges, strengthening partnerships, sharing knowledge, and bringing ideas into action.

At Cosmos Solution, we are committed to developing and implementing practical solutions in renewable energy, biogas, clean cooking, organic waste management, and the circular economy, while creating meaningful impact for communities and contributing to a more resilient and sustainable Caribbean.

🌎 This is why I show my support for this campaign. Let’s support the movement. Let’s spread the word. Let’s create impact together. 💪🌱

Two representatives from CYCN Grenada recently participated in a conference in Jamaica, gaining valuable knowledge and sharing their perspectives on climatesmart practices, climate action, and ways to mitigate the impacts of climate change.🇯🇲🌎

Throughout the conference, participants collaborated to develop a Youth Declaration, ensuring that the voices, ideas, and priorities of young people were reflected in the discussions and outcomes.

We are especially proud to celebrate our representative, Arian Scott just 16 years old, and the youngest at the time who was given the opportunity to present and represent the voices of young people on an international platform. 🎤🌍

From learning to speaking up, our representatives continue to demonstrate that young people have a powerful role to play in shaping a climateresilient future.

🇬🇩 We are proud of our representatives and the way they represented Grenada and CYCN. Keep leading, learning, and making your voices heard! 💚🌱

A quick recap of the recently held Regional Ocean Conservation Youth Workshop convened from July 22-24, 2026 in Kingston, Jamaica 🇯🇲

We were happy to welcome youth from across the region who championed Ocean Conservation. The workshop was designed to continue building capacity and develop our young peoples understanding of the Caribbean Sea and human activities that continue to degrade the marine environment and coastal ecosystems.

Following the 1st Caribbean Youth Environment and Climate Change Conference which adopted the Caribbean Youth Declaration on Environment and Climate Justice, the Caribbean Youth Climate Council continue to take the approach to mobilize our region and strengthen our movements through Policy, Action and community building.

Over the next few months we intend to launch the Emerging Oceans Leaders Programme and continue consultations on the Caribbean Youth Resilience Fund.

Thank you to our supporters for making this convening possible. Until next time #DefendOurOcean
