2026 race calendar is looking on fire so far for this hybrid mama.

Can’t wait to rip it on the track, in the gym and across the seas.

All in the cause of getting that 1% better every day.

One week check in: feeling surprisingly great considering the slightly lower calorie intake.

Clocked:
4 strength sessions
3 runs
1 soul destroying hour on the stepper

Last night’s track session finally didn’t feel like a sack of bricks. Someone must have sewed a pair of wings to my trainers because I was flyyyying 🪽

Feel like the needle is slowly turning.

Gonna keep reaching for that 1% better every day.

P.S. It’s still bloody hot.

Give me an old city and a guidebook and I’m there.

Today I explored the old fortified city of Victoria (Rabat) in Gozo. This is one of those cities where you can walk the rampart walls, and look out from where the people centuries ago would have done the same.

Definitely glad the kids gave this one a miss. Lots of steps…

Stunning solo scenes from Fort St Angelo. Sun, sea, swell and a whole lot of scintillating stories from this little gem.

I do now want my own personal oubliette, like the fort’s, to throw in anyone that annoys me. People that spark a ciggy next to children, I’m looking at you 😂

Culturally, that’s one of the things that has stood out to me so far - how much people smoke, where they do it (everywhere), and where they dispose of the butts (hint - the floor). We may call Australia a nanny state sometimes, but they do get some things right. taken in Fort St. Angelo by @onehelsofaride

Explore the ancient city of Mdina - the ‘silent city’ with me.

A rare child-free day led me to follow my nose to the centre of Malta.

A flurry of rainfall drove me underground to the hollow where St Paul preached, and the catacombs in which the Maltese people sheltered in WWII. Exploring the catacombs completely alone in the darkness was…character building.

Back above the earth I wandered the streets looking for architectural treasures, and boy did Mdina deliver.

First track session in three months with @sundayrunclub_mlt .

Felt like a sack of bricks but was pleasantly surprised that it wasn’t completely awful - likely because while travelling, the only exercise I could do consistently was short runs.

Glad I got through this one (with 4 unfortunate spew incidents due to a badly-timed high-fibre lunch 🤮) so I can do it all over again in 8 weeks and compare paces.

At least I spewed in style @lskd
