POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

One Hundred Tees; my journey to play the top 100 golf courses around the world.

This isn’t just about simply checking off a list, it’s about sharing experiences all over the world with old friends and creating new friendships along the way. Golf connects people like few other sports do.

A huge inspiration for the project comes from my dad and I’m looking forward to walking a lot of these courses with him.

There are some amazing trips lined up with some guest appearances along the way too! I’m excited to share it all with you.

See you on the tee!

One of the main reasons I started this page was to play more golf and share the journey to @officialtop100 with my Dad!

He has played all over the world and has played over 50 off the top 100 himself so I have a bit of catching up to do. But as he has said to me many times, golf is simply the greatest game there is. The people you meet along the way, the places it takes you and the memories you create.

We’ve been lucky enough to play in some amazing places, but there is nowhere that we’ve been that is better than RCD. Truly magical.

GAINING SPIN 🔥

There are times in the short game when we need the ball to shoot off the face quickly, perhaps when chipping up steep slopes, and others when we need spin and finesse. Here, we can slow the ball down by swinging incredibly smoothly and hitting the ground 1–2 inches before the ball (yes, you read that correctly!).

Here are two changes we made:
1️⃣ Hit some shots with our thumbs off the grip.
2️⃣ Hit shots where we felt as if we were decelerating through the ball, whilst still rotating our chest fully towards the target.

This is such a cool shot to learn! It allows you to play with real finesse and hit softer shots to pins where there’s less green to work with. Here, Sam played two exceptional shots to a pin on a downslope.

IMPORTANT: You must feel as though you complete your rotation through the ball for this to work. If you completely stop at the ball, it’s quite easy to hit fat shots.

To truly appreciate any sport I believe you need to see the best at it up close…

Back in early 2024 when I was playing for the Brisbane Heat I had the pleasure of playing with @cameronsmithgolf @royalqueenslandgolfclub 🇦🇺

He shot -9 with his eyes shut. The short game and putting which he is renowned for was remarkable, up and down from places you’d only dream of.

Gun golfer, even better bloke. Took us for a steak and a beer at his favourite pub after the round. A great day.

Kingston Heath - #17 @officialtop100 🌍

Sticking to the Aussie theme…

Reminiscing; as 36 hole days go this was a good one… Royal Melbourne in the AM and then Kingston Heath in the PM courtesy of @mitchellcrickgolf !

@rorymcilroy hyped it up, and KH deserves every bit of hype. What an incredible golf course. Flat, compact and no water in sight, but those MacKenzie bunkers are everywhere you don’t want to be.

Already plotting a return before the Presidents Cup rolls into town in 2028. 🏆

Royal Melbourne (West) - #6 @officialtop100 🌍

Take a trip down down under... I’ve been very lucky to travel to Australia pretty much every year with cricket for the last 15 years. One of my favourite countries on the planet, and it has become a home from home for me.

The golf in Australia is outstanding; the Melbourne sandbelt could arguably go down as the best golfing region in the world with RM headlining the roster!

A place like this is only as good as the company you share it with and we were very lucky. @mitchellcrickgolf & I were very kindly hosted by @garylisbongolf & Wolfgang. Such a fun day and finished off with a couple of 🍻 on the infamous terrace.

My photos don’t do the place justice but @garylisbongolf ‘s certainly do. Check his page out, he’s one of the best in the world and knows a thing or two about golf courses. taken in Royal Melbourne Golf Club by @onehundredtees
