Day 6: In support of the @ruthstraussfoundation I was lucky to have my second round at Sunningdale Golf Course in as many weeks !
An unbelievable day with some great people (including a nice little matchup vs @onehundredtees ).
The game is improving but winter is nearing and it is time to book some lessons!
Anyone got any recommendations ? 🏌️‍♂️⛳️

GAINING SPIN 🔥

There are times in the short game when we need the ball to shoot off the face quickly, perhaps when chipping up steep slopes, and others when we need spin and finesse. Here, we can slow the ball down by swinging incredibly smoothly and hitting the ground 1–2 inches before the ball (yes, you read that correctly!).

Here are two changes we made:
1️⃣ Hit some shots with our thumbs off the grip.
2️⃣ Hit shots where we felt as if we were decelerating through the ball, whilst still rotating our chest fully towards the target.

This is such a cool shot to learn! It allows you to play with real finesse and hit softer shots to pins where there’s less green to work with. Here, Sam played two exceptional shots to a pin on a downslope.

IMPORTANT: You must feel as though you complete your rotation through the ball for this to work. If you completely stop at the ball, it’s quite easy to hit fat shots.

There’s a certain stillness in Sandwich at this time of year.

The fairways begin to take on their autumn tones, the light softens across the links and every contour feels that little more pronounced.

A timeless corner of England.

The Old Course, St Andrews - #7 🌍 #1 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 @officialtop100

Widely regarded as the birthplace of golf, with the game played on this ground since the 1400s.

Seven of its eighteen greens are shared, and several fairways are famously wide enough to hold four groups at once. The Road Hole (17th) remains one of the most difficult par 4s in the world, guarded by the Road Hole Bunker and the stone wall running along the out-of-bounds road.

The course has hosted The Open Championship more than any other venue. It is a truly special place and without doubt one of the more nerve racking 1st tee shots.

For me it conjured up very similar feelings to playing cricket at lords. A truly unique place where you feel the history all around. Very special.

The first few pictures are from the first time I played the course. Promo day for the @aigwomensopen with @jasonroy20 @jpickford1 . Great fun.

Second time around I was actually a late call up for my first official match for @royalst.georges vs @therandagolf . My partner @katiemac21 carrying me through the 18.

Lastly, watching 150th @theopen in 2022 was incredible. Seeing Tiger walk down 18 was genuinely a goosebumps moment. One of the best sporting events I’ve been to.

One of England’s most iconic links courses. The course was in great condition. Some quirky holes which are truly unique. Incredible views to top it off.

Thanks to @chr_mcl for hosting. An amazing day 🙏🏼

We invited 8 of England's best cricketers to Stoke Park for an epic 8-man golf showdown.

The format is simple: make the highest score on a hole, and you're going home.
