More evidence from the UK of what might come to pass here if we don’t get ahead of the situation. Reform MP Robert Jenrick has been referred to the police and the government’s counter-extremism programme. This was made possible due to the UK Labour government’s new Islamophobia definition. Many warned that this definition would have a chilling impact on free speech, and that is exactly what is happening.

It is legitimate to criticise radical Islam. It is actually legitimate to criticise and raise concerns about any religion. Robert Jenrick raised the view that radical Islam is a threat to everything he holds dear in the UK and that Brits shouldn’t allow the creeping Islamification of the UK. These views are entirely legitimate and should be debated.

Look at France, look at the UK. The warning signs are all there. We either heed them or we ignore them. by @onenationoz

“The flydubai co-pilot accused of trying to hijack an aircraft bound for Israel told social media followers his time in Australia was amongst the ‘golden years’ of his religious devotion.”

This relates to the three years that Hammam al-Hammami spent in Melbourne on a student visa. The matter is currently being investigated by the Victoria Joint Counter Terrorism Team. Clearly, there is a lot that still needs to be revealed, and we wouldn’t want to prejudice any investigations, but there is so much about the revelations in the SMH that is worrying.

Of course, by referring to the “golden years” of “religious devotion”, he most likely means his “radicalisation”. If it is the case that this alleged terrorist was most radicalised in Melbourne, then there are serious lessons that need to be learnt and questions that need to be answered. by @onenationoz

October 7 was the deadliest day for Jewish people since the Holocaust. Today is the third anniversary of that barbaric attack. The majority of the 1,200 killed were civilians. Some of the most vulnerable and defenceless were deliberately targeted and killed in the most brutal way by Hamas terrorists. This included the young people who attended the Nova music festival. The very worst of humanity was on show that day. by @onenationoz
