My New Moon Prayer:
•
Under tonight’s New Moon in Libra I call myself back to balance in preparation for the days to come.

Teetering on this tipping point I prepare for descent, a journey to meet my shadow and reclaim myself.

I am ready to be received by the Enchantress of the fall as I shed my worn layers and old patterns that hold me back.

Yet, in this moment of balance I take time to bathe in the poignant glory of these golden October days. Somehow they are part of the preparation, the bitter sweet of descent into the magic of the dark nights.

Bathing in this beauty I pray that humanity returns to relationship, reciprocity and reverence and that balance, peace and justice prevails in the days, weeks and months to come.

Living in Gratitude this Autumn Equinox. Sharing the little miracles our land gifts us with at this tipping point in the year.
•
At Equinox the Sun rises due east and sets due west almost everywhere on Earth. Here in the northern hemisphere we are reminded to shift down a gear, to turn inwards once again and prepare for the fall into Autumn.
•
It’s a time to find equilibrium after the expansiveness of the summer and busy growth phase of the year. Let’s realign in right relationship with the land we are guardians of, the beings we share it with and give thanks for the abundance of our harvest.
•
Let’s settle into a balance of reciprocity with the land and one another that feels grounded and safe whilst the material world continues to spin out of alignment.
•
What grows on our doorstep is the medicine we need. Happy Autumn Equinox My Friends!🍁🍂

Preparing space for our Autumn Equinox Circle of Wise Women on this glorious September morning.
•
Under a waxing Moon about to burst into fullness I go slowly, making blessings of intention and love as I prepare the Apple & Blackberry Tea, create the altar of autumn fruits and gently place sheepskins, cushions & blankets around the circle for each woman to settle into when she arrives.
•
This is my joy!🍂🧡🍁

RETREAT KITCHEN IS HERE!!!!!

Gosh, even just typing that feels quite something. I’ve spent so long creating this book and have put all my bits and bobs in to it as well as extra sprinkles and a profusion of gubbins.

From my modest self published book I wrote with @matt_inwood in 2017 to a handful of photoshoots we did in between time with a view to something more being on its way, to my proposal, my wonderful agent and a book deal from @eleanor_maxfield @quartobooksuk that I still can’t quite believe I got. To now having pooled a glorious team of creatives with @clairehrochford on book design as well as bringing @buce_multimedia_art illustrations together for this magical front cover.

So now it’s up to you all to pre order, ready for its publication on February 4th 2027. All those who I’ve fed whether on retreat or at a supper club, whether I’ve overshared my love for turnips with you on a train, talked about beans in a festival field or sparked a conversation in a national trust garden over the painful beauty of nature. This book is for you to share, to inspire and to cover in greasy kitchen smears.

There is much more to share with you over the coming weeks including events, competitions and of course, me weeping whilst I unwrap the first hard copy of the book some time next month. So watch this space 😌

My New Moon Prayer:
•
“Under this new Moon in Virgo, as the season whispers change and my days are topped & tailed in dew

I reflect on the little stories, the intricate moments, the jewels hidden in the details of everyday life

In the magic of now I plant my feet into the earth as my mind whirls with the perfection of it all and I remember…

…let it flow, release the need to know, to control, to be right. My best is good enough

As the season turns, our Little Tea House Circles transition from the meadow teas of yarrow, calendula & clover to the hedgerow and orchard tisanes of apple, blackberry & hawthorn.
•
Nourishing from the inside, warming and sweet, these teas centre us in preparation for our gentle spiral in towards the equinox later this month.

Behold the beauty of The Dahlia.
•
I’ve been growing Dahlias for 10 years and they never fail me. Even this year as the ground lay parched, the Dahlias thrived.
•
They have adorned altars, created mandalas, honoured menarche, lightened my heart, starred in bouquets and brightened our days.
•
As the misty mornings beckon and the light gently draws in, these beauties will continue to bring us joy for weeks to come.

Hail the humble Rowan Berry!
•
Known as a fierce protector, the Rowan Tree has been used throughout the ages to ward away forces of evil. Each of its red berries carries a five pointed star opposite its stem and every flower consists of five white petals.
•
This pentagon is believed to be a symbol of protection. Traditionally, at this time of year as we begin to spiral in towards the dark, garlands of the berries were festooned above doorways, beds and barns to protect from enchantment and cleanse home and hearth of negative energies.
•
Why not thread together your own garland of protective berries this autumn? I’m off into the valley with my basket to gather in my protective harvest.

It’s publication day for The Almanac 2027!

This is the 10th edition of my almanac, and I am so excited to share it with you. Every year we have a different illustrator, and this year it is the fabulous @daniellebarlowart - I have loved Danielle’s work for many years and knew she would do a wonderful job on this year’s celebratory 10th edition, and so it has proved. Her work is glorious.

We have a couple of our regular contributors back with us: almanac astronomer @hannahbella_nel will be helping us keep track of the sky at night all through the changing seasons of 2027, while our wise woman @onewomanawake has devised a ritual for every new moon of the year. We also welcome @rhiannon.hooson - the first resident almanac poet! who has written us a poem for every month. And finally @mamausedtosay is going to be getting us moving in tune to the energies of the seasons.

Shout out also to @newmanandeastwood for brilliant design and to everyone at @octopus_books_ for all of their hard work getting this little beauty out into the world.

Fly little almanac, fly!

I do hope you love it. Please let me know how you use your almanac, and what you are most looking forward to about this next one.

Links to buy in bio! You can find signed copies there too.

My Full Moon Mantra for our Lunar Eclipse in Pisces tomorrow morning:

“Immersing myself in the waters of life, I dissolve all boundaries.
I tune into the mystery and let go of all structure.
I trust that I am safe.
I am in everything and everything is in me.”

Planet & Element: Water & Jupiter
Manifesting: Dreams & Intuition
Harvesting: Release

The so called Blood Moon is created when the maximum reach of the Earth’s shadow upon the Moon’s surface appears red. This will play out over 93% of the Moon at 05.12 on Friday morning.
•
As the Solar Eclipse two weeks ago heralded new beginnings, tomorrow’s Lunar Eclipse will call in endings. It’s a good time to embrace the Piscean energies of letting go.
•
Trust that the tides will embrace you, cleanse you and return you anew.
•
