THANK YOU — dirty creatures [2027]

We reached and exceeded our target of $5,000 SGD. To all who donated, you are part of the DNA and support fabric of this film now.

We owe it to the arts community in Singapore and overseas, and especially to my family for the generous donations. Every amount was precious to us.

Honestly, the people who will support your art the most are the people who love and believe in you — don’t take them for granted. This has been a huge reminder to me to trust in the generosity and goodness of people. Thank you to the many friends and strangers who donated, and to the fighting spirit of those who support experimental and independent artmaking against all odds.

All donors will be credited in the film credits when it screens in January 2027, and will receive film merchandise and signed posters from the cast. $1 to $1,000 — everyone who donated gets something. No exceptions.

Two performances. One body in many forms.
Curtain down on Amongster: A Body of Dark Solanum in Taipei.
Two nights at Taipei Zhongshan Hall, surrounded by bodies, tomatoes, sound, sweat, desire, laughter, silence, and hundreds of different ways of looking.
Thank you to every audience member who entered this strange little world with us.

The tomato became our companion, material, witness, and sometimes our disturbance. It brought the bodies closer to one another and closer to something beyond the human.
Thank you Dance Now Asia, Taipei Zhongshan Hall, the curators, producers, technical team, volunteers, and everyone who made these two performances possible.
To my dancers, Mekratingrum Hapsari, Dani S. Budiman, Ahmad Saroji, Lucky Wisnu, and to Bagus Tri Wahyu Utomo — thank you for giving your bodies, energy, trust, and imagination to this work.
And to everyone who has walked with Dark Solanum from its beginning until now: thank you.
The performance is over. The experiment continues.

🌴🫦👻DIRTY CREATURES FUNDRAISER 👻💋🌴 Experimental Southeast-Asian Horror Dance Film.

Hi everyone, this is my first time producing a film and my first time fundraising for something of my own. But I believe in this project, and I believe in the people making it with me. Very honored to have superstars @aurora_sun_labeija @oniltasman @r.o.t999 @antiwira.exe contributing their genius and artistry to this project.

From October 19–25, 2026, we will fly to Northern Thailand to shoot what I think will be something extremely crazy and completely unpredictable. I don’t even have the words to make this sound better or try to explain to much the film we will be making. I hope that for those who are familiar with our artistic practices, who have seen us or been touched by our dance, or seen and loved any of Lucas’s films, you’ll understand that this combination is something quite special. Otherwise, I’m happy to share more for those uninitiated but interested to support.

Every contribution, however small, is super appreciated. Serious inquiries only. If anyone from overseas wants to contribute, WISE is the best. Also when you donate please indicate “dirty creatures - name or anonymous donor” to be included in the film credits.

Ps. The short film screening is free of charge and is happening sometime in January 2027, so there will be no private screenings of the film prior. Which is why we have not offered this under our donation tiers, but we will send out personal invitations to all donors.

Buku "Lengger Agamaku" karya @oniltasman - diterbitkan Juli 2024 oleh @kalabuku_ , adalah buku autobiografi sekaligus manifesto dari Otniel Tasman

Otniel, seorang penari sekaligus koreografer asal Banyumas yang akrab dengan tradisi Lengger. Otniel membedah dan mengurai sejarah serta arsip tubuhnya, juga relasi dengan faktor luar (juga pergulatan batinnya sendiri) seperti stigma, tekanan sosial, ketimpangan saat memerankan dirinya sebagai tubuh lengger baik di panggung maupun kehidupan sehari-hari.

Bagi Otniel, Lengger bukan sekadar tarian, tapi "agama": keyakinan dan jalan hidup.

Amongster: A Body of Dark Solanum
A choreographic experiment that explores the body as a space of ambiguity, transformation, and encounters between tradition and change.

Drawing from Lengger Banyumas, a traditional dance practice from Indonesia, the work explores the body as an “in-between” space—constantly shifting between identity, desire, tradition, and transformation.

Through the presence of the tomato as a living material and metaphor, Amongster invites us to encounter the body not as something fixed, but as something fluid, layered, relational, and continuously becoming.
I would be very happy to meet you in Taipei and share this work with you. Come, watch, experience, and perhaps question your own body with me.
