🏃‍♂️ TWO MARATHONS. TWO DAYS. ONE INCREDIBLE COMMITMENT. 🔥

What does it take to pace back-to-back marathons? According to On Pace pacer @im_that_ken , it comes down to three things:

💪 Preparation.
🔥 Commitment.
❤️ A passion for helping runners achieve their goals.

In Episode 41 of Sunday Pacer School, the On Pace Way, Ken shares what it takes to pace two marathons in one weekend, including a 575-MILE DRIVE between the Brookings Marathon and Milwaukee Lakefront Marathon! 🚗💨

For Ken, pacing Boston Qualifiers isn’t just something he does. It’s his passion.

And while running 52.4 miles in one weekend might sound impossible to some, Ken reminds us:

💬 “You are what you repeatedly do.”

With consistent training, dedication, and time, your body can adapt to incredible challenges.

But here’s what we love most about Ken’s story: It’s not just about the miles he runs. It’s about the runners he helps reach their goals along the way. ❤️

👏 Drop a 👟 in the comments to celebrate Ken and all the dedicated pacers who go the extra mile (or 575!) to help others chase their dreams!

💬 YOUR TURN: Have you ever run back-to-back races? Would you consider taking on the challenge?

What’s it REALLY like inside a 3-hour marathon pace group? ⏱️🏃

For Episode 40 of Sunday School, the On Pace Way, Evan Wetzel takes us inside the 3:00 group at the @milwaukeelakefrontmarathon.

And sometimes? It’s pretty quiet.

When runners are chasing a major time barrier and working close to their limit, there may not be much conversation—and that’s completely okay.

As Evan tells his runners:

You can be as involved as you want to be. You can chat. You can answer questions. Or you can simply tuck into the group and come along for the ride.

A pacer’s job isn’t to expect energy from the runners around them. It’s to GIVE it.

And when that big starting group becomes two, three, or four runners late in the race? That’s when pacing can become something really special.

They’re riding the red line. The goal is still within reach. And the pacer keeps pouring in encouragement, motivation, and belief all the way to the finish.

Because sometimes the best conversation between a pacer and a runner is one-sided:

“You’ve got this. Stay with me.”

👇 When you’re racing hard, do you want your pacer talking to you—or would you rather just lock in and follow?

Your goal pace is better with a crew. ❤️🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️

It’s a BIG weekend for On Pace Race! Our pacers are heading to four events across the country, ready to help runners stay steady, stay encouraged, and keep moving toward that finish line. 🙌

📍 Bellin Women’s Half Marathon — Green Bay, WI
📍 Brookings Marathon — Brookings, SD
📍 Pacific Beach Half Marathon — San Diego, CA
📍 Milwaukee Lakefront Marathon — Milwaukee, WI

Running with an On Pace pacer is about so much more than watching the clock. It’s race-day strategy, course knowledge, encouragement when things get tough, and a built-in community moving toward the same goal. And at select paces and events, you’ll find pacers using run/walk intervals, too!

If you’re racing with us this weekend, find your pace group, introduce yourself to your pacer, and ask about their race-day strategy. We LOVE meeting you before we hit the start line.

👇 Tell us in the comments: Which race are you running this weekend—and what’s your goal? Tag a friend who needs to find their On Pace crew!

Happy Pace. Happy Race. ❤️

⏱️ Keeping the clock is the baseline. Being an On Pacer is so much more.

For Episode 40 of Sunday School, the On Pace Way, Paul is coming to you from Sedona with a message for the runners who might be wondering, Could pacing be my next chapter?

Yes, an On Pacer needs experience.
Yes, you need to be able to hold a steady pace.

But what we’re really looking for are givers.

Runners who find joy in someone else’s joy. ❤️
Runners who are willing to make race day about the people around them.
Runners who want to help someone reach a finish line they may have once thought was impossible.

Because pacing isn’t just about getting from the start to 13.1 or 26.2 at the right time.

It’s about the conversations. The encouragement. The tough miles. The celebrations. And sometimes that huge, sweaty hug at the finish line from someone you’d never met before race morning. 🥹

If you’ve chased your PRs and you’re wondering what might be next in your running journey, maybe it’s time to run for something bigger than your own finish time.

👉 Visit our website at onpacerace.com and select “Join Our Community” to see if becoming an On Pacer could be your next adventure.

Well, I bet you that when I pace a race, I am going to make sure I hit that time goal. The Bismarck Marathon was a great race. I enjoyed the course, and the spectators definitely came out to support. We had a new crew for a minute, but the steepest hill took a nice group out; however, we had a young man running his first half marathon in a long time stay with us, and he got a 1:59:58 for his first sub-two-hour half marathon. He gave me and the other pacer a hug and thanked us. This is why I became a pacer: helping people reach goals they thought they could not accomplish. I am five for five in pacing, and I have one more to go before the end of the year in New Orleans. Your pace group is about so much more than the number on the sign. ❤️

Coming to you from the @foxcitiesmarathon in Appleton, Wisconsin, Paul Miller and Kayli Morgan are talking about one of the best things you can do before race day:

👉 Meet your pacer.

At the expo, Kayli met several runners preparing for their FIRST marathon. By race morning, those runners already knew:

🏃 Who they were looking for
👕 What the pacers would be wearing
⏱️ The pacing strategy for the day
🙋 That they had someone they could approach with questions

And then something even better happened.

First-time marathoners in the pace group started meeting each other. The group became a little community—running together, encouraging one another, and working toward that finish line together.

That’s what pacing is all about.

Your pacer isn’t just there to hit a time. We’re there to answer questions, share tips, keep you encouraged, and help you run a smart race.

💡 Pacer Tip: If you’re thinking about running faster than your pace group, consider staying with the group through the early miles, seeing how you feel, and then making your move.

Next race, come say hello at the expo or starting line. We’d love to meet you.

Have you ever made a new running friend in a pace group? Tell us below! 👇
