my blood pressure monitor was flashing red. i was just writing an email about something frivolous.

i was newly 33.

i treated myself like a project that was failing: fixed what was broken, handed off what i was carrying, and started moving.

meeting minutes from the first alignment session, a free beginner mat pilates class in westwood, nj.

location: brookside park

attendance: better than forecast, and the weather forecast? better than it’s been for weeks (this weather was on a pip)

agenda: beginner mat pilates, zero laptops present

impromptu debrief with key stakeholders @elisob11 and @andreaa_x15 in the @nightshadecoffee conference room

but on a serious note, so grateful that this group of women showed up to lie on the grass in a park in bergen county on a saturday morning, trusting me to help them align after a busy work week.

truly, thank you for coming. thank you for taking the time. and thank you for being the first pancake in my pilates instructor journey.

this exercise and i were not on speaking terms a few months ago.
