GODPARENT Bookings lands in Berlin for a two night residency at Laden 2.

Across Friday and Saturday evenings, we move between live performance, underground music culture, radio, storytelling and transmission.

FRIDAY 26.06.26 - NOCTURNAL EMISSIONS

A night dedicated to strange sounds, underground music culture and neglected corners of the record shelf.

GODPARENT opens proceedings with a juxtaposed selection spanning post-punk and citation, heavy riffs and industrial distortion before two special live performances from:

+ Lord Tusk (Live)
+ The Lunacy of Flowers (Live)

Three distinct approaches to sound in one room: records as conversation, live electronics as transformation, bass and songs as vessels for atmosphere and feeling.

Radio leaves the airwaves and enters the room.
Lord Tusk presents Ultra Wave Visions - a guided journey through the aliases, projects, recordings and influences that have shaped his work over the years, accompanied by personal selections, stories and reflections.

Strange Pleasures 🌸🔫 Threw caution to the wind with some brief karaoke, grieved John Maus and my unrequited DM looking for the truth amidst his fall from grace, maybe he was never with grace, tender adoration is so often misguided and blindly naive.

Anyways, I partake in some philosophical rumination on the ‘dregs of the USB sticks’ ie the pieces you never got to play, which I’ll dedicate a whole show on later, and equate it to the musical manifestations of our exiled parts.

@bunny_hoova (LIVE), Manchester-based producer and multi-instrumentalist. Their work folds treated samples and guitar into sparse, low-key rhythms, shaped by an intuitive and textural approach to production. After releasing their debut album LONGING in 2019, bunny hoova has been developing new material that pushes further into raw, emotive songwriting and sound design. Recent performances focus on this unreleased work, presented in a direct and immersive live setting.

@rubie____ (LIVE) is a songstress, producer, and profound storyteller based in Glasgow. Her highly theatrical live shows blend high drama balladry, polymetric twitch-pop and transcendent plainsong; with sprawling songwriting referencing post-apocalyptic t4t love, demonic catgirls and spiritual experiences in north london retail parks. Her spring shows will be debuting a new solo set of songs from her soon to be announced third album ‘Like Bears’.

🔮Strange Pleasures 🪽Rapscallion Blues 🐉

Took a minute off not making my show, the woes of the world do be feeling insurmountable, and them celestial rapscallions do be performing their rituals of disarray and (un)resolve.

Anywoo, here we are dizzy and disoriented, enraged and in lust with a haphazard show of music from over the past year or beyond, just a pleasant and inconsequential dalliance with a warm void — sue me.
