POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

@warhammerofficial have put up the first load of finalists. To have two pieces hit finalist was mind blowing for me, especially given on the weekend I knew this was a finalist first and the one many a friend had high hopes on placing (you loved watching me squirm) I was a bit of a nervous wreck waiting for my model to reappear when they started putting pieces back out. Going to bed didn’t help with @bruce_is_painting messaging me at 4am to go check old world 😂.

I had set the loftily goal of getting to finalist again after managing back in 24 Essen. I’m very fond of this piece and feel it shows where I enjoy putting my effort “world story telling”. After getting feedback I’ll make fixes to this and take to Essen and other events this year.

Once again thank you to the likes of @gitgud_painting community @bruce_is_painting @taromodelmaker @nath.art.wright @a_c_miniatures and @phoenixminiatureart for not helping my heart rate in the slightest on the day ❤️

I am still in shock that I have been able to get a bronze in old world at adepticon 2026. Thank you to the @gitgud_painting community for the support and making this weekend one to remember. #goldendemon #oldworld #painting by @op_minis

I tried but I couldn’t do it. How people keep things hidden is beyond me. So here is the final piece I’m taking to #goldendemon Essen for the old world category. Had a lot of fun and I’m still doing final refinements, but I feel the pressure to do something cool again for oldworld after adepticon.

Now the fun game of taking models out over the next week and a bit doing final passes. In typical fashion I’ve spotted something while posting this.

See you in Essen.

I said I was going to do it. Here’s a firehawk terminator. Nearly 6 years since I last painted a firehawk! Was fun but also a challenge to go back to space marines after so long. While I like 40k, but there much more challenging to make interesting with smooth shapes.

So another piece done, which is a lesson in not everything will be better than the last piece. I picked this up as a break from the way I painted the last few pieces, but it fought me the entire way. I’m a firm believer of finishing a piece regardless so I continued and ended up with this. Elements were fun, designing the base and printing, the freehand on the banner etc.

Next project from my table. With the deadline of adepticon coming up I didn’t have too much time to delve into a in-depth big project like the Cathay. So I thought I’d paint an epic leviathan. Which as you can see evolved into its own little dio of some sons of Horus at a former imperial fist bastion. Was fun to paint but the scale is brutal. Can’t wait to paint something bigger.

So I promised a photo and while I still fix some bits I will post what I have. My offering for mpo Bristol 2026. The orange returned!! (Running gag to paint orange for mpo) though no fluro this time. A first for me as I digitally sculpted the base for this. Lots of fun learning a new skill and want to produce more bases. Can’t wait for tomorrow to see everyone’s pieces! #warhammer #necromunda #ironheadprospectors #painting #goldendemon by @op_minis

So we’re have I been, painting that’s where! I kind of took a break from posting frequent updates to try taking time for myself to paint. And this is the outcome, cathay 2.0. Taking my piece from last year and refining what I learnt further. First outing will be the @squidmarminiatures online comp then on to adepticon! 👀

Okay after jumping into irl work I have a brief moment to post about @fenmodelshow.ely …

AMAZING AS ALWAYS

One of, if not the best comp in the uk right now. Amazing venue, people, friends, nemisis 😘 and to top it all off I’ve manage to break out of commended in painting and walk away with a silver masters for my Cathay. Knowing a majority of those on stage with me, which I also look up to as painters, is always mind blowing.

As always the community are amazing to be around and the @gitgud_painting community clearing awards across the range is amazing to see and I’m glad to know so many.

Right back to work, there’s only 80 ish days to Germany GD 😬

The time has come, come November the team at @cryptic_cabin will be hosting the first ever convergence painting competition and I’m honoured to say I will be judging standard!

I’m now on my fourth year of painting for competition, with a reasonable number of accolades under my belt. I’m very excited to experience from the other side of the cabinets and get a up and personal look at everyone’s entries. I’m especially fond of pieces that involve storytelling, making it feel the piece has been ripped out a bigger scene, especially when bright cars are involved😉

I can’t wait to see what offerings you bring!

See you in November 🔥

**huge faux par- my necromunda model got the bronze**

Back from @cultofpaint MPO Bristol 2026 and over the moon I’ve managed to break the commended barrier in masters and walk away with a silver in diorama and storytelling and a bronze in masters painting!!

Have to hand it to the MPO crew they run an amazing event and it’s an auto include to my events each year. Extremely happy to see so many of the @gitgud_painting hitting goals and winning across the board in standard and masters alike. The community makes the event so much fun, especially when peers get their first wins in standard & Masters.

Fen will be up next! Now to figure out what I want to paint.
