Our dear friend @pamelapaulsrud of Treewhispers stopped by today to plot and plan some Evanston-based Treewhispers activities in advance of her exhibition at @evanstonartcenter in April.

Keep your eyes peeled for some upcoming awesomeness all around E-Town!

Today in our Main St. video series we’re down the street with Terri and Pete at @viragjewelers discovering some local history! Open since 1936, they are an official Evanston legacy business. Virag is a local staple for fine jewelry shopping and watch repair, not to mention their timeless involvement in the D-Day invasion. Stop in Wednesday-Saturday from 11-5 for all of your repair and retail needs. They are truly a gem. 💎 🕰️ 💍📿✨ #viragjewelers #evanstonlegacybusiness #supportlocalbusinesses #evanstonsmallbusiness taken in Virag Jewelers Ltd. by @open_studio_project

Time to celebrate!!! Our masterpiece is complete, after a year of planning and an entire summer of hard labor including masonry work, painting and installing mosaics, the latter of which were made by YOU! Our wonderful and dedicated community members. Come celebrate all the hard work, find your tile and gawk at its beauty with us TOMORROW! Thank you endlessly to our sweet community partners for donating treats for the event @buttonbakeryevanston and @principalonmain. We’ll see you tomorrow 9/26 in front of the mural from 1-3pm! 🌀🌷🌆🫟#openstudioproject #communityart #evanstonmural #supportlocalartists #oscarjoyo taken in Open Studio Project by @open_studio_project

“ONE FOR ALL”
Aerosol, latex paint, mosaic tiles
35’ x 46’
727 W Main St.
Evanston IL

This Evanston project was in collaboration with @open_studio_project , @fxwart , @edwigemassart , @yasuk0_design and myself which took over a year of planning. Though there a lot of weather stoppages and losing Dunkie causing a huge blow in the midst of working on this wall, this was one of the best projects that I’ve worked on as a muralist. I’m very blessed to work with a caring and hardworking team on this one and I look forward to work with them and Evanston on future projects.

I included a couple close people to emphasize the feeling of community and belonging that I hope people feel coming into Evanston (as well as greater Chicago) and finding their tribe. I hope that people find their people as they navigate anywhere they move to.

There will be a mural dedication this Saturday from 1-3 to see this piece in person.

Huge thanks to @leximakesyoulaugh and @tmayfld for helping us out as well as @itsme.jessv and @anthonykanemetz for modeling for this one.
