A new batch of Orbbec depth cameras is on its way to Germany 📦

In these boxes: Gemini 305, Gemini 2, Gemini 335 and Gemini 336L. The compact Gemini 305 is designed for close-range, wrist-mounted robot vision; the other models offer different options for 3D sensing and robotics development.

We’ll share a closer look after they arrive. Which model are you most curious about?

A closer look at robotics with @agilexrobotics Robotics 🤖

Our team recently visited AgileX for a product training session, getting hands-on with the PiPER robotic arm series, PiKA data collection system, and Universal Master Arm.

From robotic manipulation to data collection for embodied AI, it was a great opportunity to deepen our product knowledge and better understand real-world robotics applications.

Thanks to the AgileX team for having us!

🤖CubeMars is launching its first online workshop, bringing the humanoid robotics community together for an hour of technical discussion and idea sharing.
The session will focus on humanoid robot simulation and mechanical design. The WATonomous team will share experience from its own robot development work, followed by an open Q&A with the speakers. There’s also a little surprise planned for the end.
📅 September 29 | 10:00 a.m. EDT
Join the conversation and hear directly from the team working on humanoid robots.

Reachy Mini before assembly: a little uncanny. 👀🔧
Reachy Mini after assembly: ridiculously cute. 🤖

We’ve taken our Reachy Mini Wireless Kit out of the box, but haven’t built it yet. Seeing Reachy Mini in @openaidevs ’ GPT-Live-1 demo has us even more excited to put it together.

What should we try first when it’s ready—voice conversations, expressive reactions, or something else? by @openelab_io

Two days in Germany — through the eyes of a young maker. 🇩🇪

We asked Konstantinos @kkourtis_ what stood out during his time here, and one more question:

What would you like to say to other makers your age?

His answer is a good reminder that making is not just about what you build — it’s also about staying curious, sharing ideas, and learning from each other. 🛠️💡

🌿 What if your houseplant could tell you when it’s time to open a window?

Meet murCO—an open-source CO₂ monitor for Home Assistant, hidden inside a geometric 3D-printed planter.
It monitors CO₂, temperature and humidity, uses light to make indoor air quality easy to understand, and can even speak through Home Assistant when the air needs attention. It works locally through ESPHome, with no cloud or subscription required.
But the story behind murCO may be even more thoughtful than the device itself.
Its enclosure was refined through 15 printed iterations by the creator’s father, a retired mechanical engineer. His brother designed the polygonal shell, while Martin developed and repeatedly refined the firmware. The entire build was then simplified so that his 10- and 13-year-old sons could assemble it without soldering.
A family-built project, designed to help other families breathe a little better.
We’ve shared the full story of murCO on the OpenELAB blog 👇
