Meet Mick Jaguar. 🐆

Deep in Mexico’s Calakmul Biosphere Reserve, field biologist @danowild is uncovering the hidden life of one of the world’s most remarkable forests.

Using techniques including environmental DNA sampling and camera traps, Dan reveals the intricate web of relationships that allows this ecosystem to thrive — from plants and insects working together to the animals whose presence helps sustain the forest.

And sometimes, that means catching up with a familiar face on camera. 👀

Meet Mick and discover more of the extraordinary connections between nature and our own wellbeing in How to Live on Earth.

“We will only thrive when the world around us thrives.” - @xiyebeara 🌎

In How to Live on Earth, Xiye Bastida draws on the wisdom passed down through generations — a way of seeing the world as deeply interconnected, where the wellbeing of people and nature are inseparable.

What if we brought this wisdom into the way we make decisions about our economy and our future?

Xiye’s journey takes her from Mexico to Wall Street, exploring how our financial systems have helped drive nature loss — and how we can rewire them to recognise nature as the invaluable asset it truly is. 🌱

🏞️ What if we could picture a future where nature and cities thrive together?

The idea is simple: it is hard to build what we can't imagine. That’s where visual storytelling comes in.

In @howto_liveonearth, we explore what it could look like to work with nature, not against it — nature woven through our cities, and people living alongside it.

What future can you imagine?

What happens when we bring nature into our most nature-deprived places? 🐢

In How to Live on Earth, we meet Carlos, Richard and Brian, who are helping to rehabilitate endangered western pond turtles at Cedar Creek Corrections Center in the USA.

Their stories show how caring for wildlife can bring purpose, build skills and foster connection with nature. And the benefits go beyond the turtles: research shows that engaging with nature can improve mental wellbeing and reduce violence.

It’s a powerful reminder that when we create opportunities for people to connect with nature, both can benefit.

🎬 Hear their stories in How to Live on Earth, available to watch for free on YouTube.

“The great thing about this film is people are crying out of hope rather than despair.” 💚

At the world premiere of How to Live on Earth, Benedict Cumberbatch reflected on the power of storytelling to change how we see our future.

Because the solutions exist. People around the world are finding ways to work with nature, rethink our systems and create a world where both people and planet can thrive.

Our film shares some of these stories. What solutions stood out to you? 🌱

🌿 When reconnecting with nature helps us reconnect with ourselves.

In How to Live on Earth, field biologist and explorer @danowild reflects on the profound effect being in the wild has on his mental health — and how different he can feel when he returns to the city.

As our world becomes increasingly urban, making space for nature in our lives matters.

This World Mental Health Day, a reminder of how deeply our wellbeing is connected to the world around us. 💚

The most valuable thing about an elephant isn’t its ivory. It’s the role it plays in nature. 🐘🌿

How to Live on Earth journeys to Zakouma National Park in Chad, where conservation efforts have helped elephant populations double over the past two decades.

And their recovery is transforming the landscape.

As elephants move through the savannah, they clear bush, help grasslands regrow and keep waterholes open. They are “landscape engineers” — helping the whole ecosystem function.

It’s a powerful reminder of what can happen when people work with nature, rather than against it.

And when nature flourishes, we all benefit. 🌍

A landmark climate ruling from the world’s highest court. What happens next?

All Rise! tells the story behind the landmark International Court of Justice climate ruling, from the Pacific students who worked with scientists, lawyers and communities to spark a global movement.

The ruling affirmed that a clean, healthy and sustainable environment is a fundamental human right.

The story continues in France and Japan, where campaigners are using the opinion to push for greater accountability and stronger action to protect people from climate-related health harms.

Watch the trailer and discover how the ICJ advisory opinion can be used by lawyers to drive real-world climate and health action.

The buzz 🐝 during this screening is like nothing I’ve ever experienced before! 2,300 students in New Zealand 🌳came to the Civic Theatre and they were doing the Mexican wave before the film had even started! This was so enjoyable, everyone was making noises in all the right places!

Huge thanks to Tahi for organising it, 31 schools came, not all of them could afford the mini bus 🚍 to get there and Tahi stepped in! So wonderful to be in New Zealand for such a memorable launch. 💥❤️💥
