All too often we’re asked to perform under pressure. Under threat of real consequences, regardless of whether or not we’ve been fortunate enough to safely practice the choices that matter most.

Nobody expects an athlete to compete without training.

No one thinks that a musician steps onstage to perform without spending hundreds, if not thousands of hours with their instruments.

No one believes that actors deliver breathtaking performances that inspire without rehearsal.

Yet everyday we expect our young people to perform life without preparation.

The truth is that people don’t fail because they lack talent or because something is intrinsically wrong with them, they fail because nobody ever told them that confidence often comes after someone steps in a room filled with fear.

Workers often fall short or struggle keeping their jobs because no one ever showed them what leadership looks like, the many forms it can take, and the pressure they’ll face on the job.

Parents often fail because they’ve been expected to perform, instruct, protect, and carry their own baggage despite living and growing in a world that has never given them a blueprint.

We’re all actors, improvising through life everyday. Walking our paths with or without preparation, complete information, or a map that shows us the bumps in the road before we hit them.

But what if we could flip the script?

What if there was a system built where young people, parents, young workers, and youth development professionals could start rehearsing life before life happens?

Edutainment has built exactly that. Human development infrastructure that rehearses emotional regulation, communication, leadership, relationships, trust, and imagination… through the arts.

It’s called Rehearsing Reality™️: infrastructure that harnesses the power of the arts, rehearsal, and real world application that prepares youth, families, professionals, and communities for success.

Stay tuned for more information on how you can bring Rehearsing Reality to your community.

Every cultural tradition has a day when the need is recognized and the vision is realized.

Today is that day for Tuesday’s at Brittany’s. We’re bringing art, culture, performance, fashion, and community into the restaurant that’s been serving Prince William County for 20+ years.

After tonight, Tuesday nights at Brittany’s will never be the same. Together, we’re curating a live creative room.

Artists. Music. Storytelling. Conversation. Community.

Witness the beginning of a new cultural tradition. Be in the room, and bring someone with you, you do NOT want to miss tonight.

What if the thing passed from one generation to another wasn't only your name?

What if it was the art?

A mother and daughter. A grandfather and grandson. A teenager discovering their voice. An adult rediscovering theirs.

THE CALL is creating a space where generations don't just watch each other perform. They perform together.

Singers. Dancers. Actors. Musicians. Rappers. Poets. Storytellers. Movers. Specialty artists. Wild cards.

Children. Teens. Adults. Parents. Grandparents. One community. Many generations. One stage.

"I’m not a performer. Is THE CALL really for me?”
YES. YOUR DISCIPLINE IS YOUR INVITATION.
You don’t need a microphone to have a voice in Northern Virginia’s creative future. Your ideas, experience, and artistry belong in the room.
CULINARY ARTISTS: Talk about your food, traditions, and creative ideas. Help others understand the culture and storytelling behind what you make.
VISUAL ARTISTS: Share your vision. Help us imagine where artwork belongs in businesses, community spaces, and everyday life.
APPLIED ARTISTS: Show us how design shapes what we wear, use, and experience. Your work connects creativity with daily living.
LITERARY ARTISTS: Share your words or the ideas behind them. Help us hear stories and perspectives we might otherwise miss.
PERFORMING ARTISTS: Bring your voice, movement, music, and storytelling, and discover the creatives who could help shape your next work.
Active participation starts with three actions:
• Introduce what you create and what you hope to develop.
• Meet someone working in a different discipline.
• Identify one idea you could explore together and follow up.
A writer can connect with an actor. A designer can connect with a dancer. A culinary artist can connect with a photographer. Those possibilities begin when we show up for one another.
We are all part of this. Your presence matters.
Come ready to contribute, listen, and help build a stronger creative community.

Let's make one thing clear: THE CALL is not an audition.

You aren't walking through the door to prove that you're good enough.
You're walking through the door because you have something to share.

A song. A dance. A story. A poem. A character. A rhythm. A movement. A skill nobody has seen yet. Or something that doesn't fit neatly into a category at all.

We're bringing different generations and different artistic disciplines into the same space, because creativity doesn't come in one age, one style, or one format.

Come as you are. Bring what you do.

“I used to sing.”
“I used to dance.”
“I used to act.”
“I used to play.”
“I almost pursued it…”

We've all heard someone say it. Maybe you've said it yourself.

THE CALL is for the person who still has a little unfinished sentence inside them.
Your age didn't cancel your artistry. Your responsibilities didn't erase your talent. And time doesn't mean the story is over. This October, we're opening the door.
Finish the sentence differently.

What happened to the performer you thought you would become?

Maybe you were going to sing. Maybe you were going to dance. Maybe you wanted to act, play an instrument, write, move, speak, or simply be onstage.

Then life happened.

But what if the artist didn't disappear? What if they simply stopped being called?
THE CALL is an intergenerational performance experience for Northern Virginia — bringing together children, teens, adults, parents, grandparents, experienced performers, beginners, and anyone with something to share.
