Audition Masterclass By @paullanthony of @patricktogherartists 🙇👨‍🏫 🎶Drawing on extensive industry experience, this masterclass is designed for singers at every stage of their careers, from emerging artists preparing for their first professional auditions to established performers seeking a sharper edge. I share an insider’s perspective on what panels look for, and just as importantly, what they don’t. 🤝Together we’ll explore the full audition journey, including: * Repertoire choice: selecting arias that showcase your voice, suit your “fach” and tell the panel who you are as an artist * First impressions: how hyou enter the room, introduce yourself and set the tone before you sing a note * Stage presence: communicating character and story with clarity and authenticity, even in a bare room with a piano * Performing under pressure: managing nerves and delivering your best when it counts Each participant will receive honest, practical feedback in a supportive environment. Observing fellow singers is part of the experience, offering fresh insight into your own presentation. The aim is to build both technical ability and artistic confidence, so you can walk into every audition as the best version of yourself. Spots are now only opened to observers🧑‍💻👩‍💻 by @operaasiapacific

🌏 MEMBERSHIP WELCOME | TOKYO NIKIKAI OPERA FOUNDATION, JAPAN 🇯🇵 We are delighted to welcome Tokyo Nikikai Opera Foundation (東京二期会) to the Opera Asia Pacific membership community as a Principal and Founding Member. The history of Nikikai began in 1952, when 16 of Japan’s leading singers came together to establish a new organisation dedicated to the development of opera and vocal performance in Japan. Over more than seven decades, Nikikai has grown into one of the country’s leading operatic institutions, encompassing opera production, artist development, professional training and a major singers’ association. Today, Tokyo Nikikai continues to play an important role in Japan’s operatic landscape, with around 2,700 singer members and a long history of hundreds of opera productions, while building international collaborations and nurturing new generations of artists. The name “Nikikai” — the “second-generation association” — reflects both gratitude to the artists who came before and a determination to carry opera forward into the future. We are very happy to welcome Tokyo Nikikai into our growing Asia-Pacific network and look forward to strengthening connections between Japan and the wider regional and international opera community.
