What does training at Optimum Athletes actually look like?

It starts with an assessment so we can understand how the athlete moves, where they’re limited, and what they need most.

From there, we build a custom training plan designed for the individual. As they train, we use data through TrackMan and HitTrax to give real feedback and help guide development with purpose.

The goal is simple: give every athlete a clear plan, real coaching, and a better understanding of what it takes to improve.

If you’ve been curious about the process at OA, this gives you a look at what to expect when you get started.

Take a tour and see it in person.

Fall confidence is built in the summer.

If you want to show up on campus ready to compete, summer is the time to prepare. Not just with skill work — but with the strength, movement, confidence, and structure that help you handle the speed of the game.

The athletes who benefit most in the fall are usually the ones who took the summer seriously.

Reserve your spot for summer training at Optimum Athletes and put yourself in a better position before the school year starts.

PRO OFFSEASON AT OA ⚾️

The season ends. The work continues.

At Optimum Athletes we start by getting to know you—how your body moves, where you’re at physically and what you want to improve heading into next season.

Through our physical assessment with KIME and force plate testing we identify areas to address and build an individualized plan around your needs.

Your offseason work includes:

▪️ Strength and power development
▪️ Mobility and movement work
▪️ Arm care and throwing preparation
▪️ Pitch design and velocity development
▪️ A throwing program built around your goals

Every athlete comes in with a different season behind them. Your training should reflect that. Whether you’re building strength, improving movement or sharpening your stuff, we’re here to help you put the work together.

Train with purpose. Push each other. Show up ready.

Summer may be ending, but development never stops.

The players who make the biggest jump by spring aren’t just the ones who trained hard in June. They’re the ones who kept showing up when school, homework and life got busy.

The question isn’t whether your season starts in the spring.

The question is: What are you doing today to be ready for it?

Have a plan. Stay consistent. Keep developing. #oafam taken in Optimum Athletes by @optimum.athletes

IF YOU’RE NOT MEASURING, YOU’RE GUESSING.

A movement fault can look mechanical and still have very little to do with mechanics.

You can cue an athlete to rotate differently, hold a position longer, or move through a different range, but if they do not physically have the capacity to access that position, more coaching is not going to solve the problem.

That is where assessment changes the conversation.

Range of motion. Force production. Movement capacity. The demands of the sport.

Measure what the athlete can actually do, then determine what needs to change.

In Episode 64 of KIMEcast, Ryan Mattheus of Optimum Athletes joins Dr. Evan Hauger to break down the role measurement plays in athlete development—and why what looks like a technical problem may actually be a capacity problem.

When an athlete can’t feel what you’re trying to teach, more words usually aren’t the answer.
Instead of giving another cue, create a position to feel, a constraint to solve, or a movement that teaches itself.
Great coaching isn’t about finding the perfect cue.

It’s about creating the right environment for the athlete to discover the movement. #OAFam taken in Optimum Athletes by @optimum.athletes
