October 7th. Art Walk. Snyder Memorial.
No time better than the present, no?

DUVAL, in collaboration: @winedownwednesdayjax , @bazaar_47 & @oqulon bring you The Cypher.

This is will be a high-energy stage featuring select performances from some of Jacksonville’s finest amongst Bazar 47’s Market, with a rap cypher open to all to conclude the night.

If you’re unfamiliar,
The Cypher is Winedown’s staple, a real test of one’s ability to rap, and they run it like no one else.

Conversations on the state of rap are everywhere right now, so let’s keep talking. This time on the mic.

See you on the 7th. by @oqulon

What Comes Before Destruction?
(Campaign Final) #rap

SYNOPSIS:
I started this to wake my city up.

Redid Control, called out a majority of rappers I admire, with a much larger goal then: ‘proving I was better’. I wanted to see how pride in craft moves when you poke it & funnel that passion toward something greater.
But that’s the thing with pride.
It’s easy to believe we’re absolved from it.

Through this, I learned I’m not above it.
One of my responses came from a place of ego. I got personal & honestly God convicted me on that.
So I did what I know best & had a conversation on it.
I Apologized.

This verse is the conclusion.
It features two shots at the top for the me I gotta kill daily. Everything after that is just me walking you through where I was and hopefully reflecting a mirror as I’ve learned from my own mistakes. With my big brother @jwalkertheartist sealing it at the end.

Beef is what they expect from Jacksonville.
But I have dreams of unity & to me venting frustrations was needed for what comes next.

Class is soon in session.
I thank y’all for participatin’.
More to come. by @oqulon
