POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

(Senticolis triaspis X Coryphantha recurvata)
A Green Rat Snake and a Santa Cruz Beehive Cactus. Two native species within the state of Arizona with limited range.
The range overlap of these two is seen above. However, our native recurvata are much more limited.

Two species I've been wanting to see for a while. I'm glad I was able to witness this one (and another) with friends!

A cool observation in the Santa Ana Mountains. A California Kingsnake preying on a Horned Lizard.

As cruised, this king was in the process of eating this Horned Lizard on the road. At first glance from the car, I thought the king was hit, but thankfully it was not!

I did not want to interfere in any way, but I also did not want the king to become a pancake. So I gently moved this guy to the side of the road and let him continue. by @orcuttiputty

A big and beautiful California Mountain Kingsnake found by @kingsnakeandthelizardwizard . The biggest I've seen to date (probably the second or third largest for Zach since he has the Barbs on lock lol). by @orcuttiputty

Our yard guardian. Masticophis flagellum.

Our yard is a checkpoint for this Coachwhip. Same individual seen on 4 separate occasions this summer season. I'll assume a female? Not sure. But we've had 2 young appear later in this season. My hope is that the pile of scrap metal and wood we have is serving as some sort of respite. Kind of owe it to them. They were here before we were. by @orcuttiputty
