I started last week going through a really great blackened crust list that I intended to do a deep dive on, but ended up going back over a bunch of Ike Yard and Cabaret Voltaire after finding my old friend Tamon's album AM NOT (Tesco, Germany) on BC, and it led me to look for stuff we used to jam out to in his flat. The crust will have to wait. by @ordinarylight

A fun Warhol book going through his ephemera and mostly paper keepsakes. I ascribe this kind of magpie charm to "20th century" people, of which materialism and fascination with printed material is particularly welcoming. Collectors I know find comfort in mitigating the world through its objects and images-I think this is also a little bit of how photography works for me and perhaps others, as a way not just to stop the world but to pause it through the action of making the photo, sometimes bearing more weight to psychological understanding than to the image itself. Collecting also functions this way with objects becoming keeosake surrogates to the experiences we encounter on this spinning gaseous rock-all unlock a feeling loosely called memory, but in fact does this in the present without ever fully placing us in the amber of past days. It's a wonderful way to experience things and very much the antithesis of many spiritual quests insisting on a pursuit of unseen matters, without the worldly anchors of such objects. Anywho-people stuff tells u lots about their world. Do you have an altar, shrine, or oddball assortment of things? On the fridge, a shelf, or in a shoe box? by @ordinarylight

In between 2 books and made the mistake of opening this one this morning-incredible interview/story from one of my first influences when finding myself in art school. Highly recommended reading by @ordinarylight

Recently. Some subscriber, some not. More videos and weekly observations on books received and on the shelves. Started a multi-episode monologue about why I dig Richard Prince and why you are wrong if you do not. Jokes aside, jokes optional, jokes intentional. by @ordinarylight
