“The biology of @mrtenlange’s framing and compositions have removed the sympathy and questions of his former work. The natural world has disappeared, and it has taken part of Lange with it. In Ghost Witness, Lange’s camera becomes almost inhuman; a super-observer befitting of the architecture and digitized environment. His observations are cold, nearly synthetic and are becoming increasingly data-like in their quality. Lange is evolving, along with the architecture and technology in front of him — his vision is a hybrid of means.”

A detailed analysis in @americansuburbx by Brad Feuerhelm of GHOST WITNESS. Mårten Lange’s immersive new book reflects on development and change in Chinese urban environments. Available online and shipping worldwide! 🪐@ordinarylight #mårtenlange #loosejoints

Repost from @ordinarylight

Ep. 120: Sorry photography, but you will always play second fiddle to music in my life. I had the incredible honor to speak with my hero in composing @musex1 William Basinski about his album #lamentations put out by @tempresltd and his @sparkle_division project with @shania_taint. We went through the new albums, but also covered his legendary #disintegrationloops in the episode. I feel like I can hang up the spurs now, one life goal scratched from the board! Thank You to William and the crew at Temporary Residence Limited for everything! It was magical!!!

Want to find out more about the ideas and experiences that informed Aaron Schuman’s project SLANT? About Aaron's photographic inspirations and thoughts on contemporary America?

Last year Brad Feuerhelm interviewed Aaron for the fantastic American art & photography website @americansuburbx when Aaron book of SLANT was published by @mack_books.

Insightful and extensive, Brad and Aaron's wide-ranging conversation lays out the way Schuman's project turned from a personal response to the town he grew up, into the portrait of contemporary America in the era of post-truth politics that informed our project SLANT (Election, Fall 2020).
