She’s the creative mind behind some of the cocktails you’ve enjoyed at @twistedsoulcookhouse and @oreathasatthepoint

Listening to Chef Deborah describe how intentional Kursten is with her creative process,

you can hear the admiration in her voice.

Different craft. Same creativity. Same intentionality.

And you can tell Chef Deborah sees a little bit of herself in the woman her daughter has become.

Somebody said Black-owned restaurants in Atlanta are trash

and @mikejordanatl pretty much responded, “Nah… you just got trash taste.” 😂

Then proceeded to highlight a whole list of gems across the city.

Perfect timing.

With this year marking 10 years of Black Restaurant Week in Atlanta

We had to finally check out @oreathasatthepoint

Created by award-winning Chef @chefdeborahvantrece and led by Executive Chef @chefdlucks

Oreatha’s has one of the most creative menus I’ve seen in Atlanta.

You can tell there’s real love, intention and thought behind every dish.

Chef Luck’s commitment to locally sourced ingredients also earned him recognition as a 2026 Georgia Grown Executive Chef during State Restaurant Day.

We tapped into the small plates + brunch specials:

Vegan Chicken Fried Cauliflower & Waffles

Croissant French Toast with a side of Farm-Raised Eggs

And yeah… we’ll definitely be back.

First of all, they had me at Duck Wings. 😋

And not just any duck wings but BBQ Jerk Duck Wings. And that's not where it ends. Trini Pepper Fish, Smoked Salmon Empanadas, Hoppin John Bruschetta, and Grilled Moroccan Lamb are a few other dishes you'll find on this menu.

Named after @chefdeborahvantrece 's mother, @oreathasatthepoint features dishes and cocktails that are inspired by regions from around the globe. @chefdlucks has fun with the flavors and adds a modern twist, and the beverage program created by @kurstenmaya is quite lovely.
