In this clip from AMERICAN HEMP FARMER, I’ve learned that care-taking these plants folks is my job. Or to put it another way, feeding my family superfood is my job. This morning I'm glad to report that there are five new PBS airings scheduled for AMERICAN HEMP FARMER in September. Thank you Spokane, WA, and Boise, Twin Falls and Idaho Falls in Idaho, all airing the film September 18. The U.S. Pacific NW is a region where hemp is crucial. For full schedules, check out DougFine.com/events. There you can also book me to speak at your organization's live event. And of course you can watch the film any time here at the beautiful PBS website page for AMERICAN HEMP FARMER https://www.pbs.org/show/american-hemp-farmer/

Thanks for watching.

Huge thanks if you have time to vote for my talk “How to Make Regenerative Mainstream” to be included at the next SXSW festival. Here’s the link: https://participate.sxsw.com/flow/sxsw/sxsw27/community-voting-sxsw/page/community-voting/session/1782692200789001Xg0u
It only takes a click to like the talk idea at that link, though when you click “like” they make you login/create a free account at SXSW, which takes about half a minute. Then the vote counts. Here’s a description of the event:
Doug Fine's “How to Make Regenerative Mainstream”: Can one family just like yours make a difference in humanity’s extreme climate mitigation project? Yes. This session deep dives into the very doable soil building and regenerative living techniques that Fine practices on his Funky Butte Ranch in New Mexico. There he milks goats, builds soil, and aims to eat locally. But this same presenter grew up in the suburbs, and will explain to all audiences (from urban to rural) the concrete steps we can all take to be part of humanity’s thriving fin coming generations. These includes solar power, driving on alt fuels & raising food even in a busy digital age life.
Thanks for voting for this talk!
And you can book me to speak at your event at DougFine.com
I so hope you enjoy my current PBS sustainability film AMERICAN HEMP FARMER, which you can watch at https://www.pbs.org/show/american-hemp-farmer/ and I immensely appreciate the support of its its regenerative messaging. Please stay tuned here for more fun clips and updates. For a reminder in your inbox, you can subscribe to the free Dispatches From the Funky Butte Ranch newsletter at DougFine.com

As many folks know, I haven’t yet been a paid influencer. If I do, I’ll be open about it. When I occasionally mention a product, I’m doing it because I think it’s doing something regeneratively cool. This is one of those posts: my friends and colleagues at @healthyoilseeds have teamed up with Wild Bill Billings to market a line of, get this: certified regenerative organic U.S. grown hemp seed superfood products. Also flaxseed. I’m diving into the hemp hearts (U.S.-grown organic is very difficult to find, of late), and they (Wild Bill's line) also do hemp seed oil and hemp protein. I wish them luck and I believe they are doing a service to human health.

This is not a dress rehearsal. A year ago my family briefly joined the world’s 30 million climate refugees. Only for ten days and we were never out of kombucha. But as you’ll see in the AMERICAN HEMP FARMER Film, we nearly lost the Funky Butte Ranch to fire more than once. The film offers solutions, for all of us, even in our digital age lives.
