The big vfx jobs are always a blast to work on but getting back to the practical roots for this video felt liberating and necessary. This trick ended up being the element that glued the whole video together in the end. Pretty fun reminder that sometimes you just need to point the camera at something and shake the fucking shit out of it if you want something to feel energetic. by @oriemcginness

Been a few years since I made a reel. If you know me at all you know I used to try to do as many things as I could for these videos, I love all aspects of filmmaking and had no problem doing whatever I needed or wanted to make a cool video. It was fun until it wasn’t, and then I got so insanely burnt out. so this past year has been about trying to outsource and expand the team. There have been many highs, and many lows as a result, but I’m so glad we started doing it. Anyway. Thanks to the artists for trusting me and the team with their brand. It’s been a blast. I cannot express my gratitude enough for the teams that have made these videos possible. From VFX, gaffers, G&E, set design, makeup, producers and PA’s, everybody’s contribution matters to make these work. by @oriemcginness

Thank you @spiritboxmusic and team for the trust with this one. Thanks for being patient through the process of getting it to look how it needed to. It’s very cool to see so many people immediately connecting to the references. Dune, 300, Sin City, were all points of ref for the vfx and seeing everyone mention those movies feels like a wonderful accomplishment. This summer was the craziest season of work I’ve ever experienced. Highest highs and lowest lows. That being said, I’m extremely proud of the work Spvce has churned out these past few months. NAIL5 is out. As always - thank you @wagewar for letting me and the team do our thing. Fun little throwback story: Back when they dropped Stitch was when I started taking music videos a little more seriously as a career. I was so inspired by that video and it ended up influencing a lot of my style back then. I ended up making a video for a different band with an old friend, and that video got seen by someone at Fearless. Because of that video, we got approached to do one for Wage. I honestly feel like my career could have gone a different direction had they not given me and the old team the chance to make one for them, and it feels so badass to see where things have gone since then. As for this one - I could go on for days about how much fun this shoot was. Thanks to the extras who showed up and stuck around, they all brought SUCH a positive vibe to the night. I tend to overthink large scale scenes and how things need to be directed on the day and having a crowd of ready-to-go people who are all stoked to be a part of something made it feel so cool.
