OKONOMIYAKI DE OSAKA

📝 Okonomi significa “a tu gusto” + yaki “a la plancha”).

La receta nació en Japón como una comida popular, sencilla y económica. Su origen es después de la Segunda Guerra Mundial, con la escasez de alimentos, el okonomiyaki permitía aprovechar ingredientes disponibles y cocinar una comida completa y barata.

Así se popularizó hasta ser una de las especialidades gastronómicas más representativas de la ciudad actualmente.

🤔El Okonomiyaki de Osaka Bang se hace con col, harina, huevo, zanahoria como base al que añaden diferentes ingredientes (nosotros elegimos ternera, brutal) y salsa (receta secreta) se acaba con salsa de okonomiyaki, mayonesa japonesa y katsuobushi. Es el mejor que he probado en la ciudad👏🏽

@osaka_bang in Sant Antoni is such a fun one. 🇯🇵✨

Small, buzzing, full of personality, with Japanese music playing, an open kitchen, a terrace outside and so much great energy.

What I loved:
• sitting at the bar and watching Jas in action behind the open kitchen 🤩
• how much personality she brings to the room. She really lights it up! 💥
• the fact that she learned in Osaka with her teacher, Eiko Fujiwara 🇯🇵
• the short, focused menu, with several different okonomiyaki options
• the takoyaki, absolutely perfect and full of octopus 🐙
• the hiyayakko, incredibly silky tofu with yuzu, seaweed and a touch of wasabi 🤤
• the okonomiyaki, especially how many versions there are: shiitake, smoked bacon, kimchi, mochi + cheese, Pyrenean beef, squid, plus a vegan gluten-free option
• the quality of the ingredients. Fresh produce comes from Barceloneta Market, the octopus from Tarragona and Sant Carles de la Ràpita, and the beef from the Pyrenees
• how particular Jas is about sourcing, even down to the tofu, which she orders especially from a producer she trusts 🙌
• the whole atmosphere: casual, loud in the best way, and really fun
