The smell of artificial smoke has finally dissipated and the days grow shorter. We have taken our time to reflect all the while our lives keep moving. Thank you to everyone who showed up to our most recent event. We hope that it was a memorable experience.

We are pleased to share with you the recording from our last event. The feedback was really positive and Oscar and Taylor where pleased with the execution of the performance.

These sounds forms an integral part to the experience guests where offered on the night. Oscar describes the concept "as a more personal response and exploration of their current feelings and thoughts". The performance begins with guests entering a disorientating situation, moving awkwardly around the space to make themselves comfortable. As guests settle in to their environment the space itself becomes more welcoming. Eventually a high point is reached. The music stops and guests step back out into the world. Relive this scenario through the music and sounds heard by guests on the night.

This recording is dedicated to the loving memory of Dorothy Baker, Oscar's Nan.

This event took place on Wurundjeri lands. Sovereignty was never ceded.

G’day folks! I uploaded a recent set from @rumbler_bar on Halloween to Soundcloud. It was the final gig in a red hot run of 15 or so gigs during October. It contains many colours across the house spectrum for you to enjoy.

I am very grateful for all the lovely people music has brought into my life. A few are pictured above from various moments recently. I continue to be inspired by our city and the rich music scene that brings us together.

Music is a means of self expression. It doesn’t matter if it’s a full room or an empty one. The message remains the same. Be uncompromising in how you present yourself. Stand up for what you believe in.

Have yourself a lovely day.

Oscar

Recent memories from a bloody good time up in the NT with michelleblack158 on Yanyuwa lands. From helicopter rides to sparse outback highways to meeting the esteemed mr Frank Shadforth (!!!), a trip with mum is guaranteed to be full to the brim with experiences and laughter.

My mother Michelle is without a doubt the biggest inspiration in my life and continues to prove stereotypes, statistics and the world wrong. Not only does she save lives in remote Borroloola but she carries a deep respect and unbridled optimism for country and her community. She is a true hero in every sense of the word and I am so lucky to be her son. by @oscar.bblack

Oscar Black’s respect and love for music and community is inspiring. @theaquarianlounge founder, and house-head through and through; he’s a trusted purveyor of thoughtful and infectious dance music. That passion shines through in his mixes, regularly gracing local staples with his selections.
For a long time, we’ve admired Oscar’s authenticity on the decks and the dancefloor; it was a no-brainer getting him on the bill.

We’re very excited for him to kick things off for us Upstairs at Angel on July 26th. Tickets moving fast, get yours through the link in bio! taken in Angel Music Bar by @oscar.bblack

Hello friends and family, I am quietly ecstatic about a party coming up on Saturday 26th that I couldn’t resist to share.

I was approached by the newly minted @thewaxburners outfit to warm things up at their inaugural party at @angelmusicbar . I have the privilege of supporting two of my biggest musical inspirations in @djjnett and @strictlyvinylluv_dj_jimmyjames . I’m totally humbled.

In the mire of our local dance music scene you have to look pretty hard for parties that pay respect to the sounds that got us to where we are today. Those sounds carry a lot of weight politically and emotionally if you are conscious of the history. Tom and Finn have entrusted me with this responsibility. You best believe it’s gonna be groovy, deep and always soulful.

I hope I can see you there. It’s gonna be fun! taken in Angel Music Bar by @oscar.bblack

I’ve uploaded the recording of a recent set at @rumbler_bar . @drew__303 has created a dope setup and atmosphere down south. Definitely go check it, plus the drinks are fantastic!

Rehear a memory of that Saturday night as I try my best to soundtrack the locals evenings. Expect nothing but an uncompromising approach to house music and mood.
