Please enjoy this changing selection of photography books and return the books for others to discover when you have finished.

Photopoetry

Photography and poetry are kindred forms. Each distils experience - one using light, the other through language. Both have the capacity to depict the tangible while evoking the intangible. When paired, their possible interpretations multiply.

Although photographs and poems have been published side-by-side for nearly 200 years, the term 'photopoetry' is relatively recent. Photopoetry collector and advocate David Solo selected the books here, which include examples by individual artists, collaborations between photographers and poets, and edited collections. The display offers just a taste of this distinctive and vibrant genre.

We’re still buzzing from last weekend at @peckham24photo 📷🎉

We celebrated the launch of Promise to Be Tender, caught up with old friends, met new ones, wandered through incredible artworks and photobooks 📚💫 and felt held by our crip community in all its brilliance.

Launching this work in a space filled with crip comrades, friends, artists and wider community felt powerful, a reminder that tenderness is political, and that care is a form of resistance ✊ ❤️‍🔥

Here’s a small clip from our performance 🎤
Music by @oscarvinter

Performing at Photoworks x Peckham24: In at least one dream! photo‑poetry night alongside the incredible artists, poets and performers @rogerrobinsononline , @mitchellroberts0n and @siddkhajuria was an honour and a privilege ✨

Thank you to everyone who came, witnessed, and held this work with such warmth.

The pamphlet is now on sale through @photoworks_uk (link in bio). 🔗 by @oscarvinter

Promise to Be Tender is an invitation into a shared imaginarium of crip love, a space where tenderness becomes a form of survival, a politics, and a promise.

Now available on our shop.

Promise to be Tender is part of P5, a photography and poetry pamphlet series directed by Photoworks in partnership with @davidisolo, and designed by @_janeandjeremy. by @oscarvinter

Honoured and excited that 'A Birmingham Symphony' is nominated for Best Documentary at the @midlandsmovies awards! It means so much to be recognised in our home region and we're looking forward to the event next month. As always, couldn't have got there without the wonderful score by my friend @oscarvinter. We're also part of the online selection for Cannes International Film Week at the moment, so please have a watch on Whush! by @oscarvinter

We’re delighted to announce that the two latest volumes in our P5 photo-poetry pamphlet series are now available in our online shop!

Giving Notice by @siddkhajuria is a reluctant love letter to the decisions we make and the often monotonous nature of life.

Promise to be Tender by @charliejlfitz & @oscarvinter explores love, care and crip interdependence forged through illness, precarity and devotion.

If you’re in London this Saturday, you can hear all three artists perform readings of this new work at @peckham24. Link in bio to book your free ticket.

You can also find us at A Bigger Book Fair all weekend at @peckham24, where volumes 1 & 2 of P5, Endscape by @f11andrewzawacki and Persona Digitalia by @vikshirls1, will be available to buy alongside the new releases.

It was an absolute pleasure to have my film, ‘Dance the Body Electric’ screened at the @barbicancentre (one of my favourite places) as a part of ‘Feeling the Fantasy’ programmed by @emilysmmns x @cripcinemaarchive alongside so many important and vibrant films exploring disability, dance and movement. Also had the pleasure of taking part in a post screening Q&A with the wonderful dancer @jamalsterrett and the dancer and filmmaker Caitlin McMullan, hosted by Emily Simmons.

Oscar Vinter (@oscarvinter) is an artist, composer, and audio-visual researcher who works across film, music, photography, and writing.

We talk about practice-based research—using the medium to explore the medium itself rather than relying on theory alone.

We discuss Oscar's multidisciplinary approach and touch on neurodivergence, exploring how repetition, sensation, and embodiment shape his creative output.

And lastly, how to maintain fun and spontaneity in art-making long term—through collaboration, experimentation, and staying authentic. by @oscarvinter
