Techno-Optimism: Shifting Culture in STEM is a book that moves girls from “it’s not for me” to “there’s possibility in this field.” Through the stories of Pan-African women who have been there, it shows young girls that they can enter this field and help shape it.

You can sponsor a child when you buy a copy of Techno-Optimism, and you can sponsor more children to receive a copy too. Pick up a copy for yourself, and put the book in the hands of a girl who needs to read it.

Add it to your shelf, and help a child add it to theirs.

What if closing the learning gap started with one book?

Meet Favour Oshiokenoya,@oshiokefavour founder of the Own a Book Today Initiative. Her organisation is working to close the reading and knowledge gap among children and teenagers in underserved communities across Nigeria.

Through school outreaches, community reading circles and a peer-led online book club, Favour is helping more young people discover the power of books and shared knowledge. So far, she has reached 500+ young people and been recognised as an Ashoka Africa Young Changemaker.
