Today is the day we finally and formally announce the short film we have been working hard on in collaboration with our dear friends, Kaad Kaapi, Dinesh Pejathaya and the filmmaker, Julien Jarry.

We believe that forest coffees from India are an example to the world of what coffee production needs to look like in an age of climate change and the perpetual development of the greenest parts of our globe.

Please stay tuned to our social media and newsletter for updates on public screenings throughout North America starting in April. taken in Chikmagalur by @ositocoffee

Coffee is the medium.
Thrivability is the goal…
…for individuals, their families…
…and the natural world that envelopes them.

Much more to come soon from the forests of Karnataka, India. taken in Chikmagalur by @ositocoffee

Happy International Coffee Day!
We got nothing deep or meaningful to say about it.
We’re just grateful to be here after eight years; still enjoying the beverage itself and not just as a means to lining our pockets.
Not for nothing though…coffee seems to always taste best when you’re drinking it at the place it was produced.

Our first load of Brazilian cacao is about to depart Pará and the timing could not be more perfect!
Our team will be at the Northwest Chocolate Festival this weekend with samples in tow. Make you wrangle one of us to taste some of the most special cacao that South America has to offer.
While we are a few weeks out from arrival to NY/NJ, these lots are available for contracting now!
As always, thanks to Claudia at @originamazonia for pulling it all together 🇧🇷🍫🖤 taken in Pará-Brasil by @ositocoffee

It’s nearly October which means shipments from Brazil are starting to ramp up. Last year’s tariff drama is behind us but a new set of Trump-inspired challenges sits before us.
We have plenty of coffee under contract and price points are reasonable (whatever that means...). However, logistical delays will be our thorn this season since the United States has no clear exit strategy from the Iran war. It’s so unfortunate that a needless war impacts the flow of shipping containers all over the world and will drive up costs for everyone.
Regardless, we have containers moving now from Fazenda Recreio and the surrounding areas. We will have ample inventory available for contracting in North America; from one bag to a few hundred. For full container load purchases, we can offer the full suite of hedging services and price protections. We are also finalizing some forward contracts from Espírito Santo. However, some details are unclear still and volumes will likely be limited even in the best case scenario.
For your 2026/27 Brazil needs, please get in touch with our sales team ASAP whether you are in North America, Europe or Oceania. 🇧🇷 taken in São Sebastião da Grama by @ositocoffee

We are only a month and a half out from the 5th annual Copa de Oro cup competition. This will actually be the ninth regional cup competition hosted by Osito since 2019, back when we had the Copa Suaceña and the Copa de Occidente. We started doing these competitions on the premise that a rising tide lifts all boats; if some producers do really well, the result could have ripple effects on the surrounding communities. Seven years after our first competition, it’s hard to ignore the inspiring impacts that success has had on producing families. However, each and every year, we hope to move the needle, little by little. Few would dispute that the 2025 competition yielded the highest average scores across all regions so our hope for 2026 is to see some more forward motion.
Technically speaking, we still have a couple open slots remaining for buyers who would like to participate as a judge. We have loads of representation from North America and Europe so we’d love to have some folks from further afield. Reach out to us immediately for more details. taken in Hotel Parque La Casona by @ositocoffee

Whether we’re talking about African coffee, cacao from the Amazon, sugarcane, peppercorn or tea from various parts of Asia, smallholder agriculture is synonymous with poverty. No matter how often we all try to pat ourselves on the back for making farmers’ lives better through “high” prices paid and convoluted impact projects, smallholder agriculture is NOT getting easier.
Believe it or not 😏…. climate change, labor issues, violence, random acts of nature and the lure of city life and its advantages, all make the risks borne by small farmers less and less appealing and mere “sustainability” is a disappointingly low bar.
In order to truly reverse the damage of decades of economic and environmental abuses because of the power dynamics that exist between farmer and buyer, we (ALL of us…) must go to great lengths to change the narrative and make smallholder farming a viable and “thrivable” option. taken in Tomé-Açu by @ositocoffee

As a producer, exporter and importer of cacao, we are constantly refining our approach to accessing new markets for our cacao or, at least, derivatives thereof.
As a producer, exporter and importer of coffee, we actually occupy a unique position in the marketplace of cacao/craft chocolate wherein we can see the landscape of opportunities with fresh eyes.

Available now in Europe, we have 8kg cases of drinking chocolate which we hope will find a home in our vast network of coffeehouses across the EU & UK!
Available soon in North America, we will have cases of drinking chocolate as well as chocolate batons for our baker friends who make Pain au Chocolat!
All of these chocolate products are made from single-origin cacao from our centralized fermentory in Huila, Colombia called “La Cueva del Oso.” All chocolate is 70% cacao.

For our chocolate-making clients, we are not becoming bean-to-bar makers and coming after your market share. We are just trying to turn our coffee-drinking clientele onto a new and better way of consuming cacao! by @ositocoffee
