We thought you might be having the post-festival blues, so maybe this might cheer you up. OST 6 will be out at the end of September, and here is a look at the cover, which, as usual, only tells you about the headline acts.

We caught up with @chatpileband prior to @arctangentfestival to discuss their new album Who Loves The Sun and a lot of other things that weren't.

@thegreatestbane told us about the magnificent new album by @theoceancollective and the incredible @cultofluna, @joquailcello and @laneshiotayonii head-up part 1 of our ATG interviews. Yes, that's right, there's too much awesome shit for one issue alone!

Out today on all streaming platforms: Null Assembly - Patient Ø album. This is a collection of the first Null Assembly EPs remastered, re-released and given a little sonic polish. When Ten Bus Audio ditched off the shysters at Distrokid, unfortunately the first two EPs went with it until now! Plus there are two unreleased tracks added for good measure, Your God and The Unwelcome Traveller. The first was written for a collaborative project that never quite came off, and so it's been reworked. Unwelcome Traveller was a track written for the Animism album that was a bit too upbeat for the mood of the album but is now here in all its bashy, filth-drenched glory.

Had loads of fun with this little box yesterday, thank you to @shanenapalm . This is the @somasynths Ether, it's a portable wide-band electromagnetic receiver—often called an "anti-radio"—designed to capture invisible electromagnetic radiation and convert it into audible sound. I've been playing with some new ideas and this little gizmo certainly started the process nicely. by @ost_mag

"Make It Worse/Dirtmouth" by @flailbandlondon is out today marking the first releases from the band. Flail is the sound of five friends finding joy in creating the kind of music they love.

Formed through an advert in the Arctangent Facebook group and first meeting at the festival's ATG sign, Flail pulls heavily from influences like doom metal, post-metal, and post-rock, and settles on a slow build into heavy noises, all under Jenny Jones' aggressive soaring vocals. These self-released tracks were recorded at the famous Shaken Oak Studios in Oxfordshire and mastered by Magnus Lindberg from the legendary band Cult of Luna.

Flail have already played shows with Indifferent Engine and Oh Doom!, and have a forthcoming Portals show with Telepathy and Din of Celestial Birds on Oct 10 in London. by @ost_mag

After a couple of messages from a couple of people needing slightly more time and the fact that the 18th is not payday friendly, we're changing our print deadline to STRICTLY, the last day of the month and therefore our release date will be two weeks into the following month from now on.

*We're not making any more changes now...
(this year.)

The reason why we're doing this is because we genuinely want to be a magazine that we'd seek out, read and support. A magazine that's made by musicians for musicians and can provide something actually affordable for bands, artists labels and creatives so they can promote their releases, tours, works, businesses etc. OST now hits an appropriate global readership that isn't a huge waste of money buried in an algorithm by people who don't care.

OST is rapidly snayched up every month by the kinds of music lovers that care enough to buy physical music in bricks and mortar record shops. Unlike any other free magazine out there though, we put fifteen features with the most exciting and original bands and artists in our magazine first which makes it something people actually want to read and not scan and dump in a bin. Which guarantees, better engagement than flyers with the exact audience you want...
