At Zero Waste Forum 2026, the panel "Bioeconomy: The New Path Towards Circularity" featured Ayse Yilmaz, Jukka Kantola and Ismael Casotti Rienda, moderated by Marcia Toledo. Each of them turning circular thinking into real materials and systems. 🌿

That same energy carried into the Demo Day Startups stage, which brought together founders building scalable solutions for waste reduction, resource efficiency, and sustainable production.

Macro climate policy only becomes real where it meets the ground, and it's impact entrepreneurs who get it there.

We took part in the Surface Design Show alongside our UK distributor, MTRL Library!

Throughout the week, we were in conversation with an ambitious and engaged community of designers, architects, and material professionals. The exchange was genuinely two-way: we shared how we reimagine food waste as material, while listening closely to how others are rethinking interior space, application, and choice of design.

We would like to thank Consul General of Replublic of Türkiye in London Ambassador Hasan Ulusoy for his visit and encouragement, as well as John Atcheson, Bruno de Penanster, Rick Gambetta (greenCrowd), Janice Sanon, and circular design architect Özgül Öztürk for their continued support, insight, and collaboration around circular and material-driven design.

Our thanks also go to Jake Naylor, Emma Naylor, and the Hanex UK Ltd team for creating such a well-organised and welcoming environment throughout the show.

Some materials pass through our lives without leaving a trace.

This began as eggshell waste, fragile, short-lived, easy to overlook.
Through material research and careful processing, it became something solid, durable, and made to live in everyday spaces. 🥚

At Ottan, our focus is simple:
