Circular economy means very different things to different people.

So instead of defining circular economy myself, I asked four scale-ups from the Innovate For Tomorrow Impact Accelerator to tell me what it actually looks like in practice.

It was an absolute pleasure to hear from @cycledtechnologies, @yallareturn.uae, @revent.uae, and @mrunaresilience, each approaching circularity from a different angle, but all grounded in real-world application.

Innovate For Tomorrow is an impact accelerator by @dubaiholding, delivered in partnership with @in5dubai. The programme is designed to support founders working on circular economy solutions by helping them move beyond ideas and pilots, and into execution, scale, and integration within the wider ecosystem.

I’m genuinely looking forward to following this journey and showcasing the winners on @majdtalks. Stay tuned, we’ll be sharing the outcomes of this journey in collaboration with Dubai Holding very soon.

Acceleration is about creating the right conditions for ideas to scale.

Recently, I spent time with startups from the Innovate For Tomorrow Impact Accelerator by @dubaiholding , delivered in partnership with @in5dubai.

In its second edition, the programme attracted over 1,400 applications from nearly 100 countries. Out of these impressive applications, 15 scale-ups were selected to join a 12-week hybrid accelerator focused on circular economy solutions across food loss and waste, resource recovery and regeneration, and digital innovation for sustainability.

What sets this programme apart is that it goes beyond mentorship in theory. Founders receive structured training, up to 20 hours of dedicated mentorship, exposure to investors and industry, and access to Dubai Holding’s ecosystem to test and scale solutions in real-world environments. The programme also includes a total AED 850,000 prize pool, with the winning scale-up securing AED 500,000 alongside a fully funded proof-of-concept opportunity.

A core objective of the accelerator is expanding ecosystem access for founders. That’s why bringing the UAE-based cohort to @stepconference Dubai and other key events is intentional, helping create partnerships, visibility, and conversations that support growth beyond the programme.

What stayed with me most is the founders’ focus on execution. It’s a strong signal that the circular economy conversation is shifting from ideas to implementation, with Dubai at the forefront of this transition.

It was my pleasure learning about these companies building the next wave of circular solutions. Curious to know who they are? Meet the shortlisted companies here:
