🚨New show alert🚨on sale now!
A duo ensemble born from a childhood friendship in the midwest, Joe Westerlund and Trever Hagen have merged their solo work on drums and trumpet into a distinct sound world of melodic, rhythmic and lush electroacoustic texture. The pair pays respect to this instrumentation’s historical context, while reaching further into sonic geographies with their shared voice.

Deep HV trio with Ged, Michael, and Otto! taken in Tubby's Kingston by @ottohauserdrums

# 1 on the @weru_fm jazz charts this week

“The sagacious guitarist from Maine is back ... a mastery of hue and tone ... his most consistent effort yet” @somethingelsereviews

“modal shapes, folk‑inflected motifs and unhurried rhythmic cycles, with the group’s dynamics kept deliberately low to emphasise texture and room sound. Improvisations develop through small variations rather than overt climaxes, giving the record a cohesive, contemplative character that reflects its woodland framing and the close‑mic’d, intimate production approach.” Bob Osborne @allaboutjazzmedia

“The album opens up slowly and rewards patience, built around quiet anthems and soundscapes that develop through small variations rather than overt climaxes” @nystatemusic

Hope you all can catch one of these shows. If you are planning to come to Tinder Hearth on Saturday I would recommend getting tickets (link in bio). For the other shows you should be fine as long as you get there early and claim a seat. The Portland show on Thursday is a double-bill with the amazing Pat Corrigan/RJ Miller duo. by @ottohauserdrums

Big up to @_kelly.geary_ for being such a wonderful mother and keeping it real & weird at the same. Also thinking about my mom today, whom I fittingly dreamt about during the early hours of this morning. To both of you: I love you lots and lots, forever and ever. by @ottohauserdrums
