POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Today, the Henderson Scholars community is holding Jordan Gandy and everyone who loves him close.

Jordan is deeply woven into our community of scholars . His humor, charisma, kindness, and unmistakable energy left a lasting impact on everyone who knew him.

While we grieve the loss of his physical presence, we also hold onto what remains: the stories, the laughter, the relationships, the memories, and the ways Jordan continues to shape the people and community he touched.

His impact will continue through the scholars, friends, and family who carry him forward.

Today, we remember Jordan. We speak his name. We hold his loved ones in our hearts. Thank you Jordan for every moment, memory and everything you gave to HSP we love you always and forever.

With love,

We are deeply saddened by the passing of Mrs. Barbara Henderson, a trailblazer whose courage, service and commitment to human dignity helped change Norman and open doors for generations who followed.

Her legacy lives on through the Henderson Scholars Program and the many lives and communities she helped shape. We extend our deepest sympathy to Dr. George Henderson and the entire Henderson family as we honor Barbara’s extraordinary life and lasting impact. taken in The University of Oklahoma by @ou_hsp

Jordan Gandy was kind, charismatic, and had a natural joy about him in everything he did.

I had the pleasure of working with Jordan for four years in the Henderson Scholars Program, and getting to watch him grow into the man he was becoming was truly an honor. I’m thankful for every conversation, every meeting, every moment.

Jordan, thank you for the ways you impacted HSP and the OU community. We are all better because of the time we got with you. 🕊️ by @ou_hsp

Community care is more than a learning goal — it’s a practice. 🍲

This year at the HSP reunion, each small group took turns cooking meals for our program. That’s what community care looks like: everyone pitching in and supporting our community of scholars. It was a truly special weekend, and we learned so much by working together to cook each meal. by @ou_hsp

One day. Real impact.

Yesterday was a reminder of what happens when people choose to invest in students.

Every gift. Every like, comment and share. Every donation affirmed what we know to be true in Henderson Scholars. Our students matter. Their growth matters. Their leadership matters. Their future matters.

HSP has always been about more than a scholarship. It is community and a place where students are challenged to grow, lead, and serve.

To our Friends of HSP, thank you for believing in our scholars and showing up with intention. We are deeply grateful.

This is what transformation looks like. ➡️

Behind every HSP scholar is a program that didn’t just prepare them for a career — it shaped who they became. And that impact doesn’t stop at graduation.

On April 14, become a Friend of HSP. Your Giving Day gift funds scholarships and supports Dr. Henderson’s Living Legacy — so the next scholar can one day tell a story just like this one.

One program. Endless impact. #ougivingday by @ou_hsp
