Jordan Gandy was kind, charismatic, and had a natural joy about him in everything he did.

I had the pleasure of working with Jordan for four years in the Henderson Scholars Program, and getting to watch him grow into the man he was becoming was truly an honor. I’m thankful for every conversation, every meeting, every moment.

Jordan, thank you for the ways you impacted HSP and the OU community. We are all better because of the time we got with you. 🕊️

Every time I watch this, I’m reminded of why this work matters.

This past retreat, I got to sit back and listen to our scholars share what HSP has meant to them. Their honesty, their growth, their courage to be vulnerable in community with each other. It never gets old.

This is the part of the work that doesn’t show up in reports or metrics. It shows up in moments like these. Proud doesn’t even begin to cover it.

If you’ve ever wondered what the Henderson Scholars Program is really about — watch this.

At the University of Oklahoma, three premier student organizations ensure our brightest minds don’t just attend college; they find a home, a purpose and a pathway to lead.

#OUGivingDay sows seeds of success, and we’re telling those inspiring stories. This is Sow & Tell. Read more at the link in comments.

HSP is...
“...a place where I was challenged to grow before I knew I needed it.” “...the people who showed up when the semester felt impossible.” “...proof that someone believed in me before I fully believed in myself.” “...home inside an institution.””...where I learned that service isn’t something you do — it’s who you become.”

The Henderson Scholars Program has been shaping students who Grow, Lead, and Serve at the University of Oklahoma — and we’re inviting you to be part of what makes that possible.

On April 14, become a Friend of HSP. Your gift on Giving Day invests directly in scholars who are doing the work, showing up for their communities, and carrying the legacy of Dr. George Henderson forward.

Every dollar matters. Every donor matters. Be a Friend of HSP this Giving Day.
