When survivors leave unsafe situations, housing often becomes the next crisis.
We’ve heard it over and over again.
So we built something simple, clear, and empowering.
Three new housing resources are now live in our Education Hub:
• A survivor-friendly affordability worksheet
• A landlord negotiation one-pager
• A step-by-step housing search guide
As you may know, rent prices often exceed what many families can realistically afford at 30% of income. That is not a personal failure. It is a housing market reality.
These tools help survivors slow down, calculate wisely, and choose stability over pressure.

Last night was a beautiful reminder that conversations about domestic violence don’t always have to happen in a room that feels heavy. Sometimes, they can happen over perfume, prosecco, laughter, and meaningful conversation. 💜🩵

Our founder was honored to be invited to Perfume & Prosecco by Notes Fragrance Lab during Domestic Violence Awareness Month to share a few thoughts about recognizing the early signs of abuse and learning to pay attention when something in a relationship just doesn’t smell right.

She shared some of the “notes” we sometimes mistake for love: jealousy that looks like protection, control disguised as concern, and slowly giving up pieces of ourselves to keep the peace.

Thank you to Notes Fragrance Lab for creating such a beautiful space for an important conversation.

💜 IT'S PURPLE THURSDAY! 💜

Today, we're wearing purple for the survivors. For the families. For the lives forever changed by domestic violence. And for those whose stories deserve to be heard and remembered.

But wearing purple is just the beginning.

It's also about learning to recognize the warning signs. Challenging the belief that abuse is a private family matter. Teaching our young people what healthy love looks like. And creating communities where survivors are met with support, not judgment.

So today, WEAR PURPLE. 💜
💜Share your purple with us!
💜 Start a conversation.
💜 Learn something new about domestic violence.
💜 Be someone a survivor can turn to.

At Our 3 Memorial Foundation, we believe awareness should lead to understanding, and understanding should lead to action.

Let's make our purple mean something.

Wear purple. Stand with survivors. Be part of the change.💜

💜PURPLE THURSDAY IS THIS WEEK!💜

Prevention starts with awareness. Awareness starts with you.

This Thursday, October 15, we're inviting you to wear purple in recognition of Domestic Violence Awareness Month and to show your support for survivors.

But awareness is about more than wearing a color. It's about being willing to learn the signs of abuse. Having conversations about healthy relationships. Challenging harmful beliefs. And recognizing that the choices we make, the conversations we have, and the knowledge we share can make a difference.

So, how will YOU show up this Purple Thursday?

💜 Wear purple.
📸 Share a photo of yourself in purple.
🗣️ Start a conversation about domestic violence.

You never know who might see your post, learn something new, recognize a warning sign, or realize they aren't alone.

Let's make this Thursday count. 💜

When people hear "domestic violence," they often picture the most visible forms of abuse.

But unhealthy and abusive relationships rarely begin there.

They can begin with behaviors that are easier to excuse:
"Where are you?" can become constant monitoring.
"I don't like your friends" can bring about isolation.
"I'm just protective of you" can become control.
"Give me your password" can become an expectation instead of a choice.

This Domestic Violence Awareness Month, we're going back to the beginning.
Because prevention isn't only about knowing what to do when violence happens.
It's also about teaching people to recognize the behaviors that can come before it.

Awareness starts at the first sign. 💜

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. 💜 Prevention begins with awareness. Awareness begins with US! (Yes, you too. 😘)

Walks like these draw attention and help us get the topic of domestic violence in front of more people so that we can have those important conversations.

Shoutout to @butterfliesbygracedefinedbyfai
for organizing this walk every year and to @wlbt3onyourside for highlighting it!

So glad to be a part of the “Breaking the Silence” Exhibition for a second year. 💜💜It was really special getting to share my work and speak a little about the meaning behind these pieces. “Where the Light Finds Me” and “What Cannot Be Undone” will be on display at the Arts Center of Mississippi throughout the month of October in recognition of Domestic Violence Awareness Month.

Thank you to everyone who came out and supported the show and the artists involved. 💜 taken in Arts Center of Mississippi by @our3inc

Thank you to @our3inc for having me. I’m truly honored ✨

Thank you to those who came and supported me, asked questions and more. A moment to reflect, to remember, and to honor the stories, the resilience, and the lives that mattered.

For who weren’t able to come, my work will be in the Arts Center of Ms for the entire month.

Last night, we gathered for Breaking the Silence 2026 to experience art, to reflect, to remember, and to honor the names of lives that mattered.

The rain changed a few of our plans, including our Ribbons of Remembrance. Guests weren't able to tie their ribbons to the tree themselves, but they still wrote the names of the people they wanted remembered.

And last night, we made sure every one of those ribbons found its place on the tree. 💜

Because rain or shine, their names deserved to be there.

We are incredibly grateful for every person who showed up and shared this evening with us. To our artists, poet, host, attendees, and everyone who helped bring this project together, thank you.

And a special thank you to the Arts Center of Mississippi for once again opening its doors and garden to this project and giving us a beautiful space to remember.

Breaking the Silence was created to honor lives through art, hold space for remembrance, and inspire conversations that can lead to change.

Last night was exactly that.

We remember them.
We say their names.
We break the silence. 💜

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. 💜

For the next 31 days, you'll see a lot of purple. You'll hear stories of survival. You'll see statistics, resources, events, and reminders to support survivors.

But this month, we also want to talk about what happens before the crisis.

Before the physical violence.
Before someone needs a shelter.
Before someone is trying to figure out how to safely leave.

Because domestic violence doesn't always begin with something we immediately recognize as abuse. Sometimes it begins with jealousy that feels like love. Control that looks like concern. Isolation that happens little by little. Boundaries that keep getting crossed.

That's why awareness matters.

Throughout October, we'll be talking about the early warning signs, healthy relationships, survivor-centered support, prevention, and the role all of us can play in creating safer communities.

Because the earlier we recognize the signs, the earlier we can start the conversation. 💜

Awareness starts at the first sign.
