So glad to be a part of the “Breaking the Silence” Exhibition for a second year. 💜💜It was really special getting to share my work and speak a little about the meaning behind these pieces. “Where the Light Finds Me” and “What Cannot Be Undone” will be on display at the Arts Center of Mississippi throughout the month of October in recognition of Domestic Violence Awareness Month.

Thank you to everyone who came out and supported the show and the artists involved. 💜

💜 Breaking the Silence | The Heartwork of OUR 3

At We Lit, we believe turning up with purpose also means knowing when to turn the volume up on the conversations that matter.

Danielle described this memorial project as the reason behind the heartwork of OUR 3—and you could feel that throughout the evening.

🎨 Art spoke where words can be difficult.
💜 Purple ribbons carried names that deserve to be remembered.
🎤 Poetry and conversation created space for truth, reflection, and healing.
🤝 And community showed up to say that silence does not have to be where the story ends.

We Lit is proud to continue supporting and amplifying OUR 3 because community partnership isn't just about showing up for the big moments. It's about believing in the mission, helping more people discover the work, and continuing to make room for conversations that can educate, connect, protect, and ultimately strengthen our communities.

To the OUR 3 team, the artists, speakers, partners, survivors, families, advocates, and everyone who entered this space with care—we see the heartwork. And we're honored to keep turning up for it. 💜

We remember. We speak. We honor. We keep showing up.

Thank you to @our3inc for having me. I’m truly honored ✨

Thank you to those who came and supported me, asked questions and more. A moment to reflect, to remember, and to honor the stories, the resilience, and the lives that mattered.

For who weren’t able to come, my work will be in the Arts Center of Ms for the entire month.

👟🔥 FINAL CALL, MISSISSIPPI!

First, THANK YOU to every person who donated, shared, pulled up, shopped local, and helped spread the word — and to every Soles for Survivors host who opened their doors and made room for the mission. 💗

And Conkrete Sneaker Boutique…
Saturday was a VIBE. 😮‍💨🔥
Shoes were donated, people shopped, games were played, music was going, and community showed up. That’s what happens when business + purpose + culture + collaboration meet in the same space.

If you missed it… yeah, you missed a good one. 👀😂 But you have NOT missed your chance to make an impact.

🚨 TODAY, AUGUST 31, IS THE FINAL DAY and we’re still pushing toward 3,000 SHOES!

Jackson, Madison, Clinton, Ridgeland, Pearl, Brandon + surrounding areas — check that closet ONE more time and help us finish strong. 👟

This is what We Lit: Turning Up With Purpose is about: amplifying the mission, supporting the businesses that support community, creating experiences people want to be part of, and turning visibility into real participation.

DONATE. SUPPORT. COLLABORATE. SHOW UP.
Let’s close this thing OUT. 🔥💗

👟🎤 One conversation. One community.

Thousands of opportunities to make a difference.

At The Sound Exchange: BAC Edition, Foxy from FoxCave Chronicles sat down with Danielle of Our 3 Memorial Foundation to talk about something that goes far beyond sneakers.

Soles for Survivors is about giving people another step forward.

Every pair of gently used or new shoes helps support survivors through Our 3's mission while creating opportunities that stretch beyond our own community.

A pair of shoes sitting in your closet can become confidence for someone else, help create jobs through sustainable microenterprise, and support programs making a real difference.

That's why We Lit had to get involved. 💜

So... we did what we do best.
We turned purpose into partnership. 🔥

Now we're aiming BIG...

🎯 3,000 pairs of shoes by August 31. 😅🤪

Can we do it? We believe Jackson can.

You'll be able to donate at:
👟 Briarwood Arts Center (BAC)
👟 Host Spots across the city
👟 Fondren's First Thursday
👟 Community events where We Lit is turning up with purpose

This is what community collaboration looks like.
A media platform amplifying the story.
A nonprofit serving survivors.
A creative hub opening its doors.
Local businesses becoming collection sites. Neighbors helping neighbors—one pair of shoes at a time.
Sometimes changing lives starts with cleaning out your closet.
So... shoe us the love. ❤️👟
Let's see what happens when Jackson walks together.

✨️🔥 JACKSON, WE CAN'T WAIT TO SEE Y'ALL IN THE BUILDING! 🔥✨️

I just wanna see us win again and again.
I just wanna see you win,
I just wanna see you✨️🎶

Seriously... We Lit is EXCITED. 🥹
Thank you to every musician, artist, creative, community partner, supporter, and neighbor choosing to walk through the doors of Briarwood Arts Center and bring a piece of what you do with you.

Yes, we're showcasing talent. 🎤🎨🎶

But even bigger than that, we're showcasing the magic of Jackson, Mississippi.

The sound. The stories. The creativity.
The people. The culture that already exists right here in our city.

That's what the BAC Art Market is about—creating space for local artists to be seen, supported, connected, and celebrated while giving our community another reason to gather around the creativity that makes Jackson special.

And truthfully... we can't wait to just SEE Y'ALL. 🥹

✨️Come through. Bring your people.
Meet somebody new. Support an artist. Experience Jackson creativity in real time.

The building is ready. Jackson, bring the magic. 🔥

💜👟🎶 COMMUNITY SPOTLIGHT: OUR 3 MEMORIAL FOUNDATION & DANIELLE LEVERETT-GALLASPY 🎶👟💜

There are organizations that show up...

And then there are organizations that change what showing up looks like.

That's why We Lit has so much love for Danielle Leverett-Gallaspy and the incredible team at Our 3 Memorial Foundation. 💜

Their mission is bigger than awareness. They are creating safe spaces, educating communities, advocating for survivors of intimate partner violence, and reminding people they are never alone.

Need proof? Their Soles for Survivors campaign set a goal of 500 pairs of shoes...

The community answered with 1,009 pairs. 👏🏾💜

That's what happens when purpose meets people.

Now it's our turn.

This year, the BAC Musicians Art Market isn't just about discovering your next favorite artist, buying original artwork, hearing incredible live performances, or catching our surprise Tiny Desk-style sessions.

It's also about showing what community looks like.

👟 BAC is officially a host site for the Our 3 Memorial Foundation Shoe Drive!

So when you come experience Jackson's creative community...

🎤 Bring your talent. 🎨 Support local artists. 🖼️ Collect original art. 👟 And bring a gently used or new pair of shoes to help someone take their next step forward.

Because that's what Art With the Old, In With the New has always been about.

Taking something you no longer need...

...and helping create hope for someone else. ❤️

Even better, we're excited to celebrate our fellow host sites joining the movement beginning Monday, August 3rd! 🎉

📍 End of All Music Jxn 📍 Swell-O-Phonic 📍 Conkrete Sneaker Boutique

And Danielle... you already know I had to set a goal. 😂

Last year the community collected 1,009 pairs.

This year I'm dreaming BIG... 3,000 pairs! 😅💜

Y'all... help me out! Let's see what happens when artists, music lovers, sneakerheads, nonprofits, and neighbors all decide to move with purpose.

Because every pair tells someone:

You matter.

See y'all at the BAC Musicians Art
