6 things crew do that create a 5-star yacht arrival

- Tender driver to confirm number of guests arriving on the tender to the crew on the yacht

- Deck crew: Hold the tender steady. Assist guest getting off the tender with a hand and guide them where to step and go

- Steward/ess: Be ready on the swim platform with cold or warm welcome towels. One towel and one drink per arriving guest.

- Greet guests warmly with a genuine smile and ask about their excursion

- Collect the used towel

- Offer water or a refreshing drink to the guest

Test your knowledge…Name one more below….

A sudden change of plans and only 15 minutes for the crew to make it happen.

You know you’re professional yacht crew when a sudden change of plans doesn’t faze you. The chief stew immediately springs into action, gathers her team and puts the contingency plan into play.

THIS IS YACHTING!!!

A contingency plan, or simply a Plan B, should always be ready to be activated when you have guests on board. It will literally save both the day, and your sanity.

Good job Team Karizma for pulling this “rabbit out of the hat”. You did an excellent job of pivoting when circumstances changed, you showed poise under pressure and the type of calm, professional teamwork we like to see.

And the results???

Tell us what you think in the comments

@Goolets @karizma_cruising Thank you for your hospitality

Part 2 Day In my Life In Monaco

Wow the show got better every day…

Highlights:

- Taking the train every morning from Nice Ville station and watching those crazy-stunning views of the superyachts at anchor in Beaulier Sur Mer and Eze

-The WOMEN IN YACHTING COMMUNITY breakfast with 130 of the trailblazing ladies in the yachting industry

- Meeting the representatives of the islands of the Bahamas to discuss everything that’s entailed in chartering in the Bahamas, crew and guest requirements, services in the Bahamas and those amazing swimming pigs 🐷

- Meeting Caroline Blatter of The Superyacht Service Guide. She and her son, Tristan, are on the pavement at every port and at every show, giving personalized one-on-one attention to all the yachts, the crew, the service providers, the ship builders, the Provisioner…phew.. the list goes on. If you’re a part of yachting, you’ll know who Caroline is. Tune in to her channels every Wednesday for a bit of mentoring and updates on all things yachting

- Stay tuned for Part 3….YESSSS… I did even more

A day in my life at The Monaco Yacht Show.

People often ask, “Tracey, what in the world do you do at these yacht shows?”. Come with me as I give you a small peek into what I did. The videos don’t do justice to show the level of networking I did, or the amount of new connections formed.

This show has a place for EVERYONE on yachting… crew ( Yes You!), yacht brokers, charter brokers, crew recruiters, yacht service providers, Destinations, Flag registries, yacht management, media, shipbuilders and this list could go on and on and on.

If you ever get the opportunity to attend TAKE IT.

Speaking of opportunity, THANK YOU to @deepbluesoft and @femainternationalsa for being so generous to give me full access to the entire show. This girl is GRATEFUL!!

Stay tuned for part 2 coming soon ( there’s more dancing lol lol 🫣🤣🤣🤣😛)

ALL EYES ON THE STEWARDESS

POV: You’re opening Champagne… and suddenly EVERY guest is watching. 👀

Funny how one little bottle can turn a yacht stew into the evening’s main entertainment.

The conversation stops.
The phones come out.
Someone whispers, “Is it going to EXPLODE?”
And now you’re standing there thinking…

Please, cork. Don’t embarrass me.

Professional stews know that opening champagne properly isn’t about creating a big explosion.

It’s all about control.

Here are some tips:

🍾 Keep the bottle chilled, around 8–10°C is ideal.
🍾 Dry the bottle if there’s condensation.
🍾 Remove the foil neatly.
🍾 Keep your thumb over the cork as you loosen the cage gently
🍾 Point the bottle AWAY from guests, glassware and anything expensive. 😅
🍾 Hold the bottle at roughly a 45° angle.
🍾 Grip the cork firmly and slowly twist the bottle, NOT the cork.
🍾 Control the cork as the pressure pushes it outward.

The goal?

Not a dramatic BANG! 💥

Just a controlled little sigh. 🤌🥂

“Pssssssss” she goes

On a yacht, even opening Champagne is part of the guest experience.

And when 12 guests are staring at you like you’re about to perform a magic trick…

Smile. You’ve got this, Girl!!!!

SAVE this post for your next charter.
And send it to the crew member who suddenly forgets everything they know the second everyone starts watching.

Captain got to meet the Minister of State.
All yachts fly the flag of its registered flagstate but how many crew can say they have personally met and entertained the State Minister of that country? Captain Zeljko of Antigua and Barbuda flagged, Motor Yacht Enjoy, was thrilled to entertain Minister of State, Michael Freeland at this year’s @monacoyachtshow_official

M/Y Enjoy is a new, 37 meter Benetti Beyond with four incredibly appointed decks that makes her appear much larger than her size. Kudos to her two stewardesses and crew who keep her impeccable condition while entertaining with the highest level of professionalism and hospitality. WE WERE ALL IMPRESSED!

PART 2: The incredible people I met at @monacoyachtshow_official . Monaco is such a mixed bag of every single part of the yachting industry. That’s what makes it the prime yacht show to attend. The networking is like no other. Here’s to all the amazing people who gave me the gift of their time. See you at the next show.
