Yacht stewardesses take great pride in the art of napkin folding. In fact it’s a therapeutic part of an otherwise hectic day, and shows our guests the special touches we create for them.

The lotus is a versatile and elegant fold for bread baskets, place settings and under wine bottles. Place a shell, flower, pearl or river rock in the center, to add a decorative touch.

A sudden change of plans and only 15 minutes for the crew to make it happen.

You know you’re professional yacht crew when a sudden change of plans doesn’t faze you. The chief stew immediately springs into action, gathers her team and puts the contingency plan into play.

THIS IS YACHTING!!!

A contingency plan, or simply a Plan B, should always be ready to be activated when you have guests on board. It will literally save both the day, and your sanity.

Good job Team Karizma for pulling this “rabbit out of the hat”. You did an excellent job of pivoting when circumstances changed, you showed poise under pressure and the type of calm, professional teamwork we like to see.

ALL EYES ON THE STEWARDESS

POV: You’re opening Champagne… and suddenly EVERY guest is watching. 👀

Funny how one little bottle can turn a yacht stew into the evening’s main entertainment.

The conversation stops.
The phones come out.
Someone whispers, “Is it going to EXPLODE?”
And now you’re standing there thinking…

Please, cork. Don’t embarrass me.

Professional stews know that opening champagne properly isn’t about creating a big explosion.

It’s all about control.

Here are some tips:

🍾 Keep the bottle chilled, around 8–10°C is ideal.
🍾 Dry the bottle if there’s condensation.
🍾 Remove the foil neatly.
🍾 Keep your thumb over the cork as you loosen the cage gently
🍾 Point the bottle AWAY from guests, glassware and anything expensive. 😅
🍾 Hold the bottle at roughly a 45° angle.
🍾 Grip the cork firmly and slowly twist the bottle, NOT the cork.
🍾 Control the cork as the pressure pushes it outward.

The goal?

Not a dramatic BANG! 💥

Just a controlled little sigh. 🤌🥂

“Pssssssss” she goes

On a yacht, even opening Champagne is part of the guest experience.

And when 12 guests are staring at you like you’re about to perform a magic trick…

Smile. You’ve got this, Girl!!!!

Great to meet Tracey @ourfacelesscrew again — always inspiring to connect with people who share the same passion and experience in the yachting industry. ⚓️✨

Tracy continues to support yachts with interior organization, charter preparation and seasonal planning — making sure everything is considered before the yacht moves into another busy season.

With the Caribbean season approaching, preparation becomes especially important: what should be ordered in Europe before the crossing, what needs to be stocked in advance, how to prepare the interior and guest areas, and what can be difficult to source once the yacht reaches the Caribbean.

We are also planning some live sessions together especially for Chief Stewardesses preparing to cross from Europe to the Caribbean. We’ll share practical tips, checklists and real industry experience to help make the transition into the Caribbean season smoother and better organized.

Dear Stew, stop saying “I’m not creative.”

You don’t need to be Pinterest-perfect to create a beautiful table. You just need to know how to play with what you’ve got. 😉

One of the first things you’ll learn onboard is that creating a beautiful table isn’t about having a degree in Pinterest. 😂

It’s about looking at what you have and thinking, “Okay… what can I do with this?”

🌿 Texture: Mix linens, glass, ceramics, wood and natural elements.
📏 Height: Not everything needs to sit at the same level — create a little movement.
🎨 Colour: Take inspiration from the flowers, destination, season or even the menu.
🕯️ Lighting: Candles = instant atmosphere.
🍋 Theme: Let the occasion tell the story.

And please don’t fall into the trap of thinking “I’m just not creative.”

Look. Experiment. Move things around. Take a photo. Change it. Try again.

Some of the best tables I’ve seen onboard started with a stew standing in the pantry thinking, “Right… what can I make with this?” 😂

Your creativity is part of your job — don’t be scared to use it. 🤍

Junior stews: save this for the next time you’re staring at a table wondering where on earth to start! 🫶🏼

Imagine Being Crew Today, Yacht Charter Guest Tomorrow.

PLOT TWIST:

As Our Faceless Crew’s founders, we spent years creating unforgettable yacht experiences for guests… then good karma and a magical wizard called Goolets flipped the script gifted us the chance to go from crew to guest for a week in Italy.

Imagine…Suddenly the beautifully prepared cabin was ours
The chef is cooking what we liked
And when the water toys came out, we could be first in line.

Honestly? Elite plot twist.

But experiencing a yacht from this side reminded us of something important…guests may not see every behind-the-scene preparation, or every last-minute adjustment…

But they FEEL it. It creates an energy…a vibe

They feel the warm welcome, the perfectly timed service, and all the thoughtful details behind every moment.

So yes, we ate, explored, played and fully committed to guest mode. Even if we felt the twinges of imposter syndrome.

But underneath it all, the crew member in us kept thinking:

“Wow… this is what our hard work feels like from the other side?.”

To everyone involved in creating these perfect charters, Our Faceless Crew salutes you. We look forward to hosting you for a tour on board the new kid on the block, Yacht Oguz Khan. We’re taking her to the Caribbean this yachting winter, and she’s available for charters in both the Med and Caribbean. DM us and we’ll put you on to her amazing charter specialist.
