5️⃣ hikes you need to do this summer near Seattle, WA

All of these hikes are day trip hikes, ranging from 1 hour to 3.5 hours away from downtown Seattle. These range in difficulty, and all have amazing views! 🥾

1️⃣ Mount Pilchuck, Mountain Loop HWY - Moderate / Hard, perfect for sunset!
2️⃣ Cascade Pass Loop - Moderate, great in the fall as well with larches and fall colors
3️⃣ Saddle Rock - Easy / Moderate, short and steep hike with beautiful views! Spring flowers also bloom beautifully here!
4️⃣ Goat Lake and Snowgrass Flats - Moderate / Hard, great for backpacking!
5️⃣ Pratt Balcony - Easy, kid-friendly and short, cool off at the river after!

Grizz’s second barn hunt class 🐀

Grizz was definitely still suspicious of the rat, especially when it squeaked at him 🤣 but he liked it more this time and is starting to understand it a bit better!

(for those of you who haven’t heard about it, barn hunt is a dog sport that tests your dog’s scent work skills & natural hunting instincts! your dog does not have access to the actual rat who is inside of a durable and ventilated tube and is very desensitized to the sport).

larch season is so beautiful in Washington. I always want to go out and do as many larch hikes as possible but it’s always WAY too busy on the weekends 🥲 my goal for each season is just to get one larch hike in!

come with us on a fall hike to Goat Lake 🥾🍂

this is a popular trail and has some pretty fall foliage around the lake! it’s long but relatively flat, so it makes for a nice day hike. we also saw a lot of backpackers!

Details:
📍Goat Lake Trail
🥾 9.5 miles, 1650ft elv
🚗 1hr 40min from Seattle
🐶 dog-friendly
🍂 fall colors out now

🌎 As always, leave no trace, respect other hikers and wildlife and PLEASE park appropriately! emergency vehicles should always have a clear entry / exit from every trailhead. If you can’t park appropriately at a trail because it’s too busy, find another one! (especially this time of year where people are out for larches and fall colors)

this is your reminder to stay mindful of your dog’s weight this fall 🍂 #ad

I love fall, but fall in Seattle means more days spent inside cuddling on the couch and less long days on the trail! Because of that, I am extra mindful about Koda’s weight. He’s been eating the @wellnesspetfood CORE+ Healthy Weight Kibble for months now and that has helped him maintain a healthy weight! I also make sure he’s still getting daily walks, getting longer outings on days when it’s not too rainy outside, and plenty of play time with his brother.
