A rare vocal duet with a fresh festive charm

INTRODUCTION:
As 2026 winds down, EGGSTA 🇿🇦 and That Girl 🇿🇦 stand out as two artists who never fail to surprise us.

This is our third time reviewing That Girl after "In Silence" (w/ Hel:slowed) in 2022 and "Blue Eyed Angel” (w/ Dirkie Coetzee) last year. This shows how amazing she is as a singer/songwriter!

Joining her is the multi-talented EGGSTA, a producer, vocalist, DJ, label owner, radio/podcast host, and A&R at Deeper Harmonies! Her discography has a flair of progressive both in the deeper and festive forms, which enabled her to release on various labels like Armada, Black Hole, FSOE, Enhanced, and Find Your Harmony.

This year they've decided to form a duo called ‘EGGSTA & That Girl’ or as we'd like to call it: That Egg! For today's review we're gonna see what they cooked lately.

PRODUCTION:
The 126bpm intro turns into an energetic, emotional extravaganza thanks to the bass, piano, and ad-libs.

Unlike progressive trance/tronce, we enter the breakdown straight after the intro. That Girl provides her magical vocals while EGGSTA provides background adlibs coated in a lovely piano.

The lyrics speak of love taking another turn when someone gives so much to another person, and that person isn't reciprocating. The major chord and positive melodies make this feel like a happy breakup song. This is especially true when she mentions memories being erased for the better near the end of her verse.

The breakdown is followed by a bridge of a singular, deep synth. We appreciate how the melody feels like early 2010s trance even though the production adopts that mid-2010s festive proggy sound!

CONCLUSION:
It's refreshing to hear vocal duets! These are quite a rarity in dance music these days, and there's still a neat balance of both artists.

We would love to see a remix of this that is troncy and makes it a wonder for the clubs!

They've also just confirmed their next release called ‘The Kick’, which seems to have a huge contrast to this one; make sure to check it out!

@soninsoninsonin & @flowanastasia24 - Tell Me Again

An anthem for a new chapter

INTRODUCTION:
SØNIN 🇫🇮 (formerly Anton Sonin) is one of Anjunabeats’ beloved talents thanks to his deep atmospheric sound. He’s behind hits like “Black Is The New Yellow”, “Rush” & “Hear Me Out”, his catalogue includes various aliases across Magik Muzik, Axtone, Flashover, High Contrast, and more. Now he steps onto Enhanced Progressive for his first EP during the label’s new era.

flowanastasia (formerly Anastasia) is a Ukrainian-born, Toronto-based electronic vocalist and MC, best known for her work in drum & bass. With over a decade of classical piano training, she combines technical precision with deep storytelling, often exploring self-discovery and mental health. Her entry into trance began last year via 2 Genix collaborations “Lights, Sound, Camera, Action" and “Dependent On You”; the latter got a remix by SØNIN himself. She also teamed up with Amy Wiles & Leena Punks on “Heard It All Before,” a mega female collab that reached #29 in the ASOT Top 50 of 2025.

PRODUCTION:

The track opens in usual SØNIN fashion with a driving 4/4 kick and a rolling off-beat bassline. Spacious, atmospheric synths reel us in, even before the vocals start! flowanastasia’s lead vocals enter the mix as the bass shifts into a fuller synth pulse. Bright arpeggio leads flicker in the background, hinting at the coming melody without revealing the hook. Anastasia’s mid-range delivery keeps the focus on her smooth tone and polished lyrics, giving the track its emotional core.

As the melody builds, a classic supersaw lead is unleashed. The chords are slightly detuned to create that signature widescreen shimmer synonymous with 2000s club trance. Then the vocals become more rhythmic, adding to the tension before the climax.
The final breakdown revisits the piano-and-pad formula from earlier, but adds a rolling sub-bass and light percussion loops to see us off.

CONCLUSION:

From remixing to collaboration, this is a winning combo. We look forward to SØNIN’s full EP as well as new music from flowanastasia!

An interesting twist on Tech trance

INTRODUCTION:
It's time to raise the tempo and explore the darker, harder, techier realms that blend well with trance.

We start with Mha Iri 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿, a female trailblazer in dance music. Leaning heavily into techno, she explored its many flavors since the late 2010s. Her discography spans across massive labels like Drumcode, Filth On Acid, and Autektone, but she also established her imprint two years ago, the aptly named "Why Don't You Dance?".

It enabled her to branch out even further, as she released a remix of Jens' classic "Loops & Tings" and a full album last year!

On the flipside we have a rising tech trance artist that surfaced in the mid-2020s. Dan Harrison 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 comes fresh off a huge breakthrough on Armada with an original on WAO138 and two high-profile remixes of Lange's classic ‘Drifting Away’ and Armin's ASOT 800 Anthem.

The pair is teaming up to celebrate Autektone's 10-year anniversary with an interesting collaboration.

PRODUCTION:
We start with the vocal adlib just before the kick and bass. That powerful yet bouncy foundation is later coated with acid fills in an overall industrial atmosphere.

The track bridges into heavy 303 bass and an extension of the ‘I'm Feeling GOOD’ adlib, announcing both the title and climax! But just when you think it's all raw power, the leads shift into a trancy melody, building more interest with each bar.

A short but intense breakdown leads us to the final climax, an acid show driven by a hard techy kick.

CONCLUSION:
The strong synergy between Mha Iri’s techno background and Dan’s trance background resulted in a special form of TECH trance!

Indeed, it feels good to see how Dan went from releasing on Mha Iri's label to working with her on this special occasion. And we’re certainly thrilled for T78 and his label! by @ourtrancelations

@omniamusic - As We Become One

Our grand return features an ASOT veteran!

INTRODUCTION:
Emerging from 🇺🇦, Omnia has spent more than a decade refining a sound that blends driving progressive trance with melodic euphoria. His early releases under Armada's umbrella established him as a master of big-room emotion, while his evolution has kept him firmly rooted in the uplifting trance sound that made him a fan favorite.

His remix catalog includes artists such as Armin van Buuren, Markus Schulz, Gareth Emery, Cosmic Gate, Andrew Rayel, and Mat Zo. Alongside his acclaimed originals, these remixes cemented his reputation for combining club power with emotional melodies. After his monumental collaboration with Armin, Omnia returns with a long-awaited gift for his fans: As We Become One!

PRODUCTION:
Fresh from its debut on Armin's ASOT 2026 compilation, the track opens with a razor-sharp kick and minimal percussion before a rolling sub-bass establishes a dark, hypnotic groove. Around the one-minute mark, filtered pads gradually widen the stereo image, expanding the atmosphere.

Sharp stabs introduce the main rhythmic motif as Omnia carefully strips back and rebuilds the percussion to maximize impact. The melody rises through a classic ascending build with rolling snares, pitch bends, and opening filters. When the climax arrives, the melody becomes the true reward. The driving kick and bass return with full force, allowing the melodic lead to resonate deeper.

CONCLUSION:
The climax is a beautiful modern throwback to the golden days of Armind, Trice, and Captivating. We would love to see Omnia explore this direction even further.

@doppenbergmusic & @midi_kittyy - Who You Are

A song to find yourself…

INTRODUCTION:
We're back to the vocal trance realm with a highly anticipated ID: “Who You Are” by rising talents Doppenberg 🇳🇱 and MIDI Kittyy 🇺🇸 🇨🇿.
We covered Doppenberg in 2022 via ‘A Distant Memory’ w/ New Ordinance. Since then, he has expanded his reach with releases on major labels like WAO138?!, FSOE, Nocturnal Knights, and Find Your Harmony, while also launching the darker, tech-driven HEL:BRG project alongside Ahmed Helmy.
Meanwhile, MIDI Kittyy is a DJ/Producer/Vocalist with releases across house, drum & bass, techno, and trance. Her catalog spans labels like AVA and Black Hole, alongside her imprint, kttyy Records, where she also supports emerging talents by featuring remixes.
Luckily, the wait is over with the song out now on Aly & Fila’s FSOE!

PRODUCTION:
The crispy intro follows a modern uplifting approach, driven by minimal FX and wobbly bass. MIDI Kittyy’s adlibs help set the mood and announce the theme!
Once we're at the bridge, Kittyy’s soothing voice takes the spotlight as we transition into the first climax. She tells a story of self-reflection and recovery, encouraging us to always remember our self-worth.
We continue with the same theme as she speaks about discovering the best version of yourself during the darkest times. This breakdown section is coated with emotional string pads, something Doppenberg is well known for. It also highlights the core message of this collaboration!
To top it all off, we get a final climax that is a meticulous balance of classic and modern uplifting. It's a guaranteed “Hands In The Air” moment in a club or festival!

CONCLUSION:
This collaboration is a solid production with a phenomenal message that marks it as a Mental Health Anthem. We also discovered new personas for Doppenberg: The Motivator and MIDI Kittyy: The Healer!

It’s easy to see why Aly & Fila gave it such strong support. Inviting Doppenberg on stage during ASOT felt fully deserved.

@akirakayosa & @hugh_tolland - Kanagawa

The 808-inspired anthem

INTRODUCTION:
Around 2010, Russ Ogden (Akira Kayosa) and Glasgow-based Hugh Tolland discovered they shared a deep passion for melodic, energetic trance. The 🇬🇧 based duo is nowadays known for high-energy, nineties-influenced trance with a modern edge.
They’ve released on major trance labels such as Future Sound of Egypt, where tracks like “Re-Entry” landed as anthem-ready, festival weapons. Their catalog spans standout originals like “Muriwai,” “Don’t Hold On,” and “Sakana,” balancing power and melody.
Individually, both artists had their share of success. Kayosa built a reputation for high-energy, emotional peak-time sets, performing at major UK brands like Gatecrasher, Passion, & Digital Society. He also shared lineups with Armin van Buuren, Markus Schulz, and Ferry Corsten. Hugh Tolland was well established as Firestorm alongside Kevin Coll. After remixing Akira, the connection naturally turned into a partnership!
To open the year they're sharing their first single from their upcoming album on Sean Tyas’ imprint, Regenerate.

PRODUCTION:
The percussion enters gradually: crisp, 16th-note hi-hats with a metallic sheen typical of duo’s Main Floor aesthetic, followed by a subdued, rolling tom pattern that establishes the 139 BPM framework without overwhelming the mix. Up emerges a deep sub-bass in Db Minor that creates harmonic tension without revealing the main theme.

The melody is introduced through a plucked, bell-like synth with a short decay and high resonance, playing a motif that evokes traditional Japanese instrumentation.
The chord progression moves from Db Minor to a relative major lift, creating a euphoric shift. The bass drops out entirely, giving the mid-range room to bloom. Atmospheric sounds add textural depth, while the bass takes a backseat!
A secondary riff brings more variety and keeps the arc engaging. And we go back to percussion as hi-hats introduce off-beat crashes, before the vocal chops that add human texture to the synthetic landscape.

CONCLUSION:
Kanagawa is a masterclass that respects the past while pushing forward with modernity.

@popovmusic - When The Sun [GOLDEN TRANCELATION]

The sun never sets on this one!

INTRODUCTION:
To welcome the new year, we're staying true to our Golden Trancelation tradition! This one comes from 🇷🇺 Trance legend and Interplay boss Alexander Popov. Back in 2012, he delivered one of his first career-defining records, “When The Sun", on Armada’s S107 Recordings, known for its vocal trance releases. The package included a club mix, original mix, and Eximinds remix.

Just before 2025 came to a close, the legendary York 🇩🇪 🇦🇬 released a heartwarming reimagination of this classic. It flooded the scene with nostalgia and emotion ever since its premier on ASOT 1252. we felt it was only right to honor it alongside the original on this occasion.

PRODUCTION:
Original
A classic 4-4 intro with tight bass and pads sets up a rolling groove. Popov leans into major chords with occasional borrowed tones for color, keeping the mood hopeful rather than melancholic.
The topline flows in long phrases that glide smoothly over the bars, giving the vocal a legato, pop-rock feel. Rhythmic layers are reintroduced with care, then the pre‑chorus lands and the sidechain pump syncs with the vocal.

@eximindsofficial Remix
Eximinds goes into club functionalism and rhythmic intensity. Melodically, he delays gratification by teasing fragments of the topline. Modal color is emphasized with subtle shifts to minor voices and suspended chords, making it more dramatic than the original.
This is more about kinetic drive than hands‑in‑the‑air glow. The lead layer is sharper and often comes as a single bright pluck or narrow saw stack.

@heyits_york Remix
This reimagination is a balearic‑tinted progressive trancer! It emphasizes warm mid‑range leads, balearic guitars, and lush extended chords. The mix consciously echoes early‑2010s and late‑2000s progressive trance aesthetics. Clean 16-bar phrasing, fluid arpeggios, and a reverb-rich atmosphere give it that sunset-ready feel, reminiscent of the classic Anjunabeats and Enhanced era.

CONCLUSION:
The original mix stands as a classic vocal-trance blueprint and exciting to see it reshaped in different ways while preserving the original core. by @ourtrancelations

@trancewithizzy - Pronoia

Trance is here to help us all.

INTRODUCTION:
We often celebrate women in the trance scene for their vocals, but the rise of female DJ/Producers deserves just as much attention. Many talents were unveiled this year, and we're actually closer to reaching the same numbers we see in house & techno. From our side, we've already reviewed two female DJ/Producers this year, Blaize Bass and BELINDA. Now we're closing with another artist to watch: Izzy 🇳🇱.

Since 2023, the Dutch rising talent has already signed tracks on AVA, Critical Sounds, and Alter Ego, to name a few. Each of her releases offers something different within the realm of uplifting trance.

This year has been a defining one for Izzy. First, beyond her steady run of releases elsewhere, she earned the opening slot on The World Album, a massive 200-track compilation curated by the International Artists Project on KeepClear. She was also featured in the previous two editions!

On top of that, she launched her label, Mystic Escape, as a platform for full-on experimentation for herself and other artists. Today’s review is its first release. ‘Pronoia’, which is the belief that the world wants to help you, as opposed to Paranoia.

PRODUCTION:
A crisp intro sets the tone with psychedelic kicks, bass, and FXs. It feels like a refined gateway into Izzy’s experimental venture. As time goes by, we get more trippy fillers and a single note in the mix along the buildup. This leads us to one of the most interesting first climaxes where psy is mixed with tech trance, later followed by a dark uplifting arp. Adlibs join the mix and bring lyrics that fit the theme of the title.

From there, the track goes psy-lifting as acids sprinkle a cold melody, taking us to the breakdown. We explore the melody in-depth as it expands with pads adding to the intensity, preparing us for the final climax.

It all goes according to plan when the melody bursts in its full raw power. The mix here echoes classic trance in some ways, and the 303 loops and psy beatwork deliver a modern edge.

CONCLUSION:
What a fitting start to Mystic Escape. We can safely consider this Uplifting, Tech, Psy experiment a success! by @ourtrancelations

@ibluestone pres. @stonebluemusic - The Land Of Nanisa

Take us to where the fantasy lives…

INTRODUCTION:
Ilan 🇬🇧 has long stood as a titan head in the Tronce scene. We previously reviewed a track from his super-collaboration project Elysian, and also his unforgettable “Paid For Love”. Our focus now shifts to his acclaimed Stoneblue project dedicated solely to Uplifting Trance! Recognized as one of his most successful ventures, Stoneblue boasts numerous awaited IDs, including collaborations with Jan Burton and others.

The Stoneblue alias debuted through “Hypnotized” with Emma Hewitt, on Monstercat Uncaged. It captured everyone with its deeply emotive sound and resonated strongly within the trance community. Since then, Stoneblue was also used for uplifting remixes of his main alias, as well as Elysian and other artists like Ben Nicky and Greg Downey. Following the mega success of his “Ignite” album, Bluestone has revived the Stoneblue moniker for a debut on the Dreamstate imprint. This is a journey into “The Land Of Nanisa”.

PRODUCTION:
As the intro begins to pulse with subtle percussion, the production builds with relentless finesse. Cinematic strings and voices set the scene, then lush arps and glistening plucks bring us into an expansive Trance canvas. As the track unfolds, Stoneblue masterfully blends the two vibes seamlessly. Ethereal choir pads glide beneath a plaintive, almost yearning piano motif, drawing us further into Nanisa. At the heart of it all are the symphonic melodies, soaring, major-key phrases that speak of hope, love, and boundless joy!

Bluestone’s trademark use of reverb and atmospheric effects envelops our senses. Then, the climax explodes with cascading leads that escalate into a 140bpm drive. Euphoric supersaw layers and thunderous drums carry us in a cathartic surge.

CONCLUSION:
Ilan showcases his prowess again as a true personal storyteller. We can only hope to embark on many more similar journeys.

@southofthestars - Lost My Love

Where Tech Trance hits the strings of Rock

INTRODUCTION:
Hailing from 🇬🇧, South of The Stars rose to prominence through a remix of Perry O’Neil’s classic “Wave Force". Even ASOT boss Armin van Buuren was a fan, supporting the track on the biggest stages! Their catalogue now features top labels like ASOT, Who’s Afraid Of 138?!, High Contrast, Pure Trance, Nocturnal Knights, Uplift Recordings, Regenerate, and Alter Ego.

The duo kept rising after their breakthrough with a powerful remix of Envio’s “Time To Say Goodbye” on Who’s Afraid Of 138?!, followed by their debut single “Void” on the same label. They also achieved another milestone with a celebrated reimagining of Marcel Woods’ hit “Lemon Tree” on High Contrast recordings, and in 2025, released a remix of Ernesto vs Bastian’s “Thrill”!
Now it's their time again on High Contrast, as they bring an explosive fusion of Tech Trance and Rock, enveloped in a sensational theme.

PRODUCTION:
From the outset, a swirling acid line hooks the listener. The 303-inspired motif grows more urgent as crisp, mechanical hi-hats and rolling kicks lay the tech-trance foundation. With haunting clarity, electric guitar riffs shimmer in the breakdown. Within that Tech-Rock space, an acid synth propels the mix as it syncs with the melodies and the gritty bass.
The singer delivers lines that feel vulnerable and resolute, the kind that linger in memory long after the last note fades. The duo expertly orchestrate Tech and rock: The acid pulses against the Rock chords, while the vocals and percussive glitches interact for an unpredictable, seemingly infinite, burst of energy.
Then, the acid synth takes the spotlight at the height of the climax, weaving frantically between the pounding rhythmic section and those gritty, rock-inspired guitar lines. As a last surprise, we get a Psy-Tech charge that overclocks every element in the mix.

CONCLUSION:
The duo has delivered a track that is equally emotionally resonant and technically sophisticated. Adding to the magic, @james_dymond also lent a helping hand in shaping this beauty!

@sneijdermusic & Holly Kirby - Home

A ghost finds refuge in Trance

INTRODUCTION:
She is the Queen of Celtic and new-age sound. Enya is known for her signature, layered vocals and atmospheric synth melodies that evoke deep reflection. She released many masterpieces in multiple languages, marking the 80s & 90s golden pop scene!

Afterdark boss Sneijder🇮🇪 has been teasing his beautiful rework of one of those, “Evening Falls”! It is resurrected in his signature Uplifting style that hits “Home”, alongside the fabulous Holly Kirby🇬🇧.

The original is based on a ghost story that the lyricist Roma Ryan had heard, about a woman who had recurring dreams of a house in America, only to accidentally come across it years later in England. Upon entering the house, its inhabitants were frightened of the woman as they explained she had haunted the house each time she dreamed about it. Now that you guys know, we can all feel the same excitement before visiting this alternate version!

PRODUCTION:
The nostalgic way home starts not with a beat, but with a memory in atmospheric twilight. Pads and subtle piano motifs tiptoe through the fog, but are rendered with a crystalline fragility, as if being played on a glass harp at the edge of a dream. This is the delicate delivery of the mysterious "Evening Falls”.

A distant, pulsating luminescence emerges from the shadows as the first tentative heartbeat of a kick drum begins. Holly Kirby’s tone is soft yet glimmering with life. Her phrasing channels the ache of searching for a home in the darkness while always being drawn toward the light.
The search for "home" evolves from a lonely, twilight quest into a collective, heart-pounding journey towards a state of grace. It is here that Sneijder and Holly’s vision is perfected. The introspective shadow fuels the emotional core of the climax, where a dazzling snare roll and a rush of euphoric synths drive to sunrise. Trance turns melancholy into light, as saws bloom and kicks thunder, while Holly's voice soars high.

CONCLUSION:
Sneijder & Holly have found a new "Home" for a wandering classic and masterfully curated a dialogue between the dark, enigmatic soul of Enya and luminous Trance! by @ourtrancelations

@dirkiecoetzeemusic & @thatgirl_sa - Blue Eyed Angel

A father’s gift to his Blue Eyed Angel 💙

INTRODUCTION:
🇿🇦 Trance icon and We Are Trance founder Dirkie began his EDM journey at 16, starting as a bedroom DJ before perfecting his mixing skills across Southern Africa. A self-taught producer, he earned great recognition for his melodic, vocal-driven trance tracks. His releases graced the biggest imprints in the scene including Black Hole, Magik Muzik, Perfecto, & Armada. There's also his Deeper Calling project, founded around 3 years ago, focusing on deeper Progressive sounds.
Now he returns to AVA White alongside fellow South African vocalist That Girl. We previously featured her track In Silence (w/ Hel:slowed) back in 2022! Over the years, she cemented her presence within the Trance/Progressive scene through collaborations with Pinkque, Dennis Sheperd, Aurosonic, SMR LVE, Pierre Pienaar, Claudiu Adam, and more.
This first collaboration between the pair is also dedicated to Dirkie’s daughter, Melody 💙

PRODUCTION:
The intro unfurls like a thin veil of silken pads and delicate percussive shimmers. Following the rhythm of a heartbeat, the landscape is slowly unveiled. Each note lands like a soft footstep in moonlit grass until the kick enters, warm yet crisp. A prismatic synth motif spirals at the edges, and then That Girl’s hauntingly resonant voice pierces the haze with lyrical clarity, singing not just Dirkie’s words but a father's silent scream and his quietest prayer.
The moment she tells the story, every chord and every verse becomes a brushstroke in a portrait of Melody. The track progresses with tides of melodic arps mimicking a father’s tentative steps. The storm of emotion crests in a radiant climax, bursting forth like a sun breaking free from heavy clouds. It drifts hard yet tender, an emotional release, a celebration, a prayer, and a thank-you to the muse.

CONCLUSION:
A luminous anthem born from hope and unbreakable love! This is the fifth song dedicated to his daughter Melody. Through this review, we would like to wish him and his daughter endless happiness, harmony, and the courage to keep creating magic.
