Steven Wilson’s ninth studio album moves in a very different direction from 2025’s The Overview. Where that record looked outward into the depths of space, Requiem For A Village turns inward to an unknown corner of the British Isles — a village removed from the modern world, existing somewhere beyond time and place.

Across its 54 minutes, Wilson embraces analogue instrumentation, imperfections and studio accidents, working with Randy McStine, Russell Holzman and Katherine Priddy. The album also features narration written by Andy Partridge of XTC and voiced by David Tennant.

A strange, intimate and cinematic record — one Wilson describes as a journey that ultimately led him “to the village.”
