I’m proud to announce our final show of 2026: FACES (of Outsider Museum & Gallery), an exhibition of past O.M.G. featured artists and friends of the gallery. As the title suggests, this one will feature nothing but FACES! It will also serve as a celebration of our three year anniversary! Please join us Friday October 23rd for an opening reception from 5-8pm.

I’m thrilled to announce our next exhibition “Under the Wing of a Quiet Moon,” artwork by self-taught Kentucky artist Bruce New. Opening August 7th with a reception from 5-8pm, this solo show will feature over 80 original collages and drawings.

In Bruce’s words, his work is “an attempt to document my existence - to leave a visual record of my thoughts, ideas, and fantasies. I reside in the wilds of Kentucky, with a bird, on a mountaintop, right next to the sun, where I create my artwork high on butterfly wine.” taken in Outsider Art Museum & Gallery by @outsiderartky

I’m proud to host this year’s Side By Side Art Show, featuring artwork created by the teen and young adult students at @dreams.with.wings and 15 artists from the Louisville community. The opening reception is Friday, May 29th from 5-8pm here at Outsider (2510 Portland Ave).

A big thank you to the following artists from the community who worked with the students to create collaborative works of art: @jamarrart @saranooriart @feliciaflesch @theseasonalwatercolorist @m.k.amos @sarah.jane.castellon @bethlyons9 @jae_the_grady @ashyadenise @_mx_liz @outsiderartky Tiffany Criswell, Judi Magder, and Barry Motes.

The program is made possible through a partnership with @artsforall_ky, a non-profit organization that provides accessible arts and inclusion programs for children with disabilities with funding from the Kentucky Dept of Education Office of Special Education and Early Learning. The Kentucky Arts Council, the state arts agency, provides funds to Arts For All KY with federal funding from the National Endowment for the Arts. by @outsiderartky

QUILTS: Unconventional Kentucky Stitchwork opens Friday February 13th at O.M.G. This group exhibition features outsider artists from Louisville, Kentucky who challenge the traditions of quilt making. Some weave poetry and hidden messages, some treat the quilt as a canvas, many incorporate rubbish and recycled household materials. All tell a unique story.

The idea for this show’s been on my mind since I opened Outsider. I couldn’t be happier with the work I was able to curate from our vibrant local fiber arts community! I hope you’ll join us at our opening reception Feb 13th from 5 to 8pm.
