Bob Log III is known for his human cannonball showmanship and fingerpicking a Silvertone arch top in the style of Mississippi Fred McDowell all while one-man-band drumming. The attitude is as punk as the labels he has put records out on, such as Bloat, Sympathy for the Record Industry, Dropkick, Fat Possum, Fanboy and Epitaph. Bob Log III has also shared stage with legends such as R. L. Burnside, Blues Explosion, Ween, Franz Ferdinand, Ani Difranco just to name a few.

Galactic Spectre are a Louisville spectacle like Russian Circles around the moon.
Gaia sound as high as apartment rent and will be setting the weird tone for a weird night, so come get weird.
All Ages welcome and Bob may even make you some toast.

1945 Outsider Art. Early Ralph Fasanella. Avail
.
Ralph Fasanella (1914-1997) “Victory and After,” 26 1/2 x 36 inches, gouache on paper. Signed, titled and dated 1945 lower left.
.
This work was painted in 1945, the year Fasanella began working as an artist. It’s a powerful WPA era work that depicts American sentiments just after WW2.
.
Happy 112th birthday today Mr. Fasanella.
.
BIO
Fasanella was a self-taught painter who created large, colorful and intricate paintings of working-class culture and American politics. A child of Italian immigrants, he spent his youth delivering ice with his father and enduring the harsh regimen of a Catholic reform school. During the Great Depression, Fasanella worked in garment factories and as a truck driver.
.
Fasanella acquired a social conscience from his mother. He became active in antifascist and trade union causes. His political beliefs were radicalized by the Depression and he became an organizer for various unions with whom he achieved some major organizing successes.
.
Fasanella’s paintings are in the Museum of American Immigration at Ellis Island, the American Folk Art Museum, and the Smithsonian. He has been the subject of several books and major retrospective exhibitions.

Alabama has a degrading, soul crushing, dehumanizing, racist, misogynist, homophobic, trans-hating past and present. Alabama has also produced some of the greatest creative minds of the past century-- like Angela Davis and Sun Ra--- and the great artists shown here Mose Tolliver + Jimmy Lee Sudduth. I have other works by these artists. DM for info. Greg Roberts Art @ Narrative Collective / Oakland. Outsider Art. Purvis Young. Included in our 25 works at 25% off sale.
.
Purvis Young (1943 – 2010), Trucks in the City, 43 x 35 inch oil on board nailed to the back of a wood frame. Signed upper right.
.
The Purvis is available and Included in our 25 works at 25% off sale through Aug 31 only.
.
BIO
As a young boy, Young tried art but quickly lost interest. It was only in his teens, while serving a three-year sentence for breaking and entering, that he gave art a second chance, spending his time behind bars drawing and studying art books. Upon his release, he continued to work, painting on the boarded up shops of Florida’s Goodbread alley until the abandoned street became a riotous mural, which developed a cult following from celebrities and the media alike.
.
Young was an American artist from Miami. His work, often a blend of collage and painting, utilizes found objects and reflects the experiences of African Americans in the south. .
.
In 2006 a feature documentary entitled “Purvis of Overtown” was produced about his life and work. His art is found in the collections of the American Folk Art Museum, the Corcoran Gallery of Art, the High Museum of Art, the National Museum of African American History and Culture, the Philadelphia Museum of Art, among others.
